the xbox version is AWFUL too

atleast on the ps3 you can just browse to the full version of facebook on the web browser...
 
Did the update before bed at about 11 last night. Installed pretty speedily after it's earlier crawl. Linked the Facebook account, but noticed the lack of iPlayer. Hopefully it'll be restored when I switch it back on today. Not that I actually use it in all fairness...
 
Me either - I did it 7am yesterday morning, took a couple of minutes - when I got home last night iplayer was there as normal...

Still having a wierd Trophy update bug, though I only usually try it when in PlayTV so that might be it...

I've left my PS3 slim updating as I left for work.

It's on auto-shutdown so it doesn't really matter how long it takes to update, although I do use iPlayer quite a lot so I'll be gutted if they've taken the icon off the XMB :(
 
My iPlayer link has gone, tried all the tricks mentioned here, even creating a brand new UK account and nothing has worked.. booo :(
 
I think the experience you had when you u/g to the FW when it was added will be the same - I think it does a check post FW install what region you are in to decide if it should display or not (with this FW release its more which one to display). I think that takes just a bit of time to kick in before you see it and the tricks suggested so far dont really do anything in reality...

I noticed a curious new (possibly) feature after the PS3 froze at the XMB yesterday. Upon restarting I got a notification that there had been a problem. I then received a prompt asking if I wanted to report to Sony, which I did. I've not seen this before, and my PS3s have frozen many, many times!
 
All those still missing iPlayer, I had the same problem and i went to Internet Browser and went to the iPlayer website, the Tv option then appeared again. Rebooted and it was back as normal.

Will give that a go, tried logging into a different account and restarted multiple times last night and still couldnt get iPlayer back. Thought it might be a problem with PlayTV because a few people with PlayTV I know had the same problem and still cant get it back, but then others who have it got iPlayer back.

Yep Ive got PlayTV and didnt have problems, but I did only update, check the new photo feature and shut it down for rest of day until I got back from work in the evening...

I turned mine on this evening for a bit of MW2 and my iPlayer link was there, so no problems after a proper shutdown. Still nothing appearing on Facebook despite earning 2 trophies tonight, though I cannot access my profile either so perhaps that's all it is.

(EDIT: or because the games I played do not work with this yet.)
