Not so realistic then. :D

I finished up my Shrewsbury game 15th in league 1 (season 3) and decided to take a job at QPR, so i started a brand new game with them to keep with familiar faces and not regens :)

Only played 1 league game and 1 cup game but got Smolarek or something like that on a free and he's got 4 in 2 so far. Absolutely astounding stiker for champ and low league prem teams.

You've spent 600 MILLION and you're still not winning???

Sounds like you need some tips

True!

In all honesty I play the game as if its CM 01/02 or even 97/98 (if people can remember the classic versions). I dont do training, team talks, not interested in indepth tactics (use a game generated 4-4-2), I watch the game in commentary only.... you may ask why bother playing? :D Well I like playing it as the game used to be, I dont have time or patience to faf about with all the extras, so I complete seasons in 4-6 hours.

Sometimes you can get success playing this way, but other times the game needs team talks and crazy tactic sessions to get anywhere.

I buy, pick and 11, let them play... and maybe make a sub if someone is playing a 6 or worse, but most of the time I just let it run to the end.

Cant beat 97/98 :) Could complete a season in about 2 hours, much fun. :)

Im really having loads of fun with FM2010. Still havent finished one season mind you! Hopefully tonight i will finish the season.

Seems a bit boring to play at the top surely. Just had a horrendously mid table season with Forest, think I might resign though and try my luck down in the conference.

Oh dear, Mr Berlusconi didnt like my results in the end (cant blame him :D)

So after a fiery meeting in which I asked him to pack his bags and clear his desk, I was swiftly escorted from the San Siro and packed on the next flight to Greenland where I can do little damage.

But im made of stronger stuff, today im loading up a new game.. probably Chelsea as they have a budget and a lot of old fluff that I can ship out to make way for the same players that failed me at Milan :D

LOL ^^^^. How much does Barcelona and Milan have as a transfer budget?

Not sure what Barcelona have, but Milan start with £13 million - with some creative thinking, you can easily spend £300+ million as I did so miserably in the 1st season.

2nd season if the players were there and the time was available, id have spent way more than the £270m I did.

David O'Leary is that you?

Anyone tried managing Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga? I hear that they have a sugar daddy so transfer funds are pretty generous.

Is that true?
Just checked out Hoffenheim in the editor and there's no sugar daddy set. So unless they get taken over by one after the game has started, er, they haven't got one. :D

I think Hoffenheim get £2.7m as a transfer budget... but all Bundesliga teams are pretty short on funds in the first season.

If you open the edt files you can see who the sugar daddy teams are (pretty obvious)

## Sugar Daddy ##

# Sugar Daddy parameters:
# "SUGAR_DADDY" "Sugar Daddy Type" "Club Name" "Alter Starting Finances Flag"

# e.g "SUGAR_DADDY" "FRONT_END" "Charlton Athletic" "1"

# "Sugar Daddy Type":
# FRONT_END - They throw money at the club to spend.
# BACK_END - They spend enough to make them a force in their current league but if they go up a level or two it would no longer apply.
# UNDERWRITER - They don't give the manager any extra transfer budget but come the end of the season they will always cover any loss the club is making and not expect the money back.

# "Alter Starting Finances":
# 1 = true, 0 = false.
# Allow the sugar daddy to alter starting club budgets or use db values.

"SUGAR_DADDY" "FRONT_END" "Manchester City" "0"
"SUGAR_DADDY" "UNDERWRITER" "Chelsea" "0"
"SUGAR_DADDY" "FRONT_END" "Notts County" "0"

OK. My information is wrong then.
Could be. But if there's an edt file, as below, then that info won't be in the editor. And Hoffenheim could have been taken over in someone's game. :)

Didn't think of the sugar daddy list at the time. :p

Just scored an absolutely stunning free kick.

Don't have my camera on me so canny record it, hopefully I'll still be able to see the reply when I have my camera on me, but here is a screen shot.

Basically Vicente takes the free kick, seems to catch the keeper napping and puts the ball in his (goalies) top right hand corner.

No deflections or anything, just straight in! :D :D

Apologies, hope you didnt take that the wrong way - I worded it wrong, in that the pretty obvious text related to the 3 teams that have Sugar Daddys, rather than its pretty obvious to check the .edt

If that makes sense :o
I didn't. I was saying I didn't think to check the sugar daddy list at the time. :)
