50 reasons why L4D2 is a true sequel to L4D1

Someones not played L4D then?

Can't remember the name of the mission but the ending is in some car yard and you get into a DIY armoured van with teeth painted on it and drive off at the end.

You need to start a generator to get the lights on then halfway through the generator dies and you need to get back over there and restart it while the hordes keep trying to rape you.

that's CC, it was added much later during development of L4D2 to fulfil their DLc promise.

it's a one off and not the norm for l4d1.

I dont remember that?

Frying pan sound effects makes me sex wee!

9. Witches are even more scary and now like to wander!

Edit: someone has already mentioned Witches, but not that they're even more deadly/scary!

its brilliant, :D just too expensive for what is just a glorified expansion pack!!! £14.99 me say yes, £30, not a chance.

IMO if it's got more than 20 hours gameplay it's not an expansion. How much would you pay to go to the cinema for 2 hours on your own? £5? £6?

That's £3/hour of entertainment, I reckon L4D2 is way more than 20 hours gameplay, even if you don't touch multiplayer and I'd happily pay £30 for it, although I got it a tad cheaper on pre-order.

You guys are getting a bit overly defensive about this "it's not a proper sequel" If it's that good just go and enjoy the game
+1

Also listing individual weapons that are new does not a sequel make. New weapons can be added trivially easily with mods.

(I bought it and consider that it does enough to warrant the price before anyone getting too defensive about it calls me names :()

I think people are just annoyed at the fact they released left 4 dead 2 so soon after the first one and are too tight to buy it again and there for are looking for poor excuses

I think its a great game (except for the fact i have just lost all my achievements...) well worth buying it pre order :D

I just looked at my total hours played against how much I payed for L4d (£30) and found for every hour i've played its cost me 8.6p. So If you play l4d2 loads cos you love it you will easily be getting your moneys worth!

I never got people that moaned about it being released 1 year after the first. I wonder if the people moaning have any copies of tiger woods, madden, fifa

Wow... you cant just list all of the different types of melle weapons as reasons, all that that does for me is shout that actually you dont have a clue why its a true sequel, frankly it all could quite easily be an expansion, graphics arnt improved and its on the same engine so i cant see why all of this couldnt have just been added in, i would have been happy with paid for dlc im not expecting this much stuff to be free, but its quite simply an expansion pack, they havnt added anything to the base game. In terms of gameplay e.t.c. i think MW2 has progressed more than L4D2, but ****ed it up with the p2p servers, the rest of it is a much bigger improvement than L$D2 is over 1

I think everyone here is getting fed up of all the "l4d2 is just a mod" talk.

So, lets form a list of 50 things that makes L4D2 a true sequel to L4D1 and not just a mod.

Just name everything and anything that is new in L4D2 that isn't in L4D1 or wasn't featured in l4d1 from the start.

I'll start.

50. chainsaw
49. frying pan
48. baseball bat
47. cricket bat
46. katana
45. guitar
44. crowbar
43. machete
42. Grenade Launcher
41. boomer pile
40. adrenaline shot
39. All 5 campaigns are VS compatible

you get the idea.

Sure man, because adding a few more weapons to a game is totally the domain of true sequals, not addon's
