Should I buy a new car?

I've driven up a kerb at 60 MPH before and it didn't do any damage whatsoever. At worst it put the tracking out a bit. No tyre damage, no wheel damage, no suspension damage. Drove just the same after.

Yet, this, much slower, has caused the airbags to go off and cracked the wheel. Not every incident is the same. I think the angle played a big part in it, as it's made the car think it was a front and side impact to set off the passenger frontal airbag yet also all the driver side airbags.

I love the three pages of posters who are clearly car safety experts, accident investigators and people with extensive experience of crashing an E46 BMW.

Those who are none of the above, how can you possibly call him a liar when you haven't a clue about the subject in hand.

The actual damage looks like it could have been done by hitting a curb at 30 or less, had he hit it faster, he'd have surely gone up it or rolled.

Hang on a moment, then what does the above make you?

I've hit a kerb whilst going sideways at over 40mph went up it onto some grass still going sideways hit a wall and spun round between 4 - 6 time, even then the car didn't roll.

Someone without a huge keyboard ego?

Congratulations, what's your point, though?

im loving the irony nestled cunningly within your post, 4/5

I'm not calling the person who experienced the accident a liar.

I was also referring the the many posts essentially "bull****, airbags don't go off if you hit a kerb at 30"

Sorry to see the aftermath, never nice.

Still, one good thing may come of it in that you might be lucky enough to never see that interior again :D

Or how easy it is, you can roll a car at under 5mph given the right set of circumstances !

At 5mph those circumstances are incredibly rare.....possible, but extremely unlikely.
It's like saying you can drown in an inch of water. You can, but in well over 99% of cases a lot more is involved.
