The XBOX 360 is 4 years old today

wow, that went quick.

i've had 3 consoles in that time, as far as i know my original (launch) 360 premium is still alive and kicking as far as i'm aware, i sold it on the MM about 2 years ago, i then bought a pro which i know is still working, i sold it to a friend earlier this year when i upgraded to the elite which is still working :D

happy b-day 360 :)

My Friend borrowed my First 360 about 2 years ago....still havent seen it. Think he sold it for money, meh. So bought Elite about 2 months ago. Used it once or twice, hate the controller, cant use it for long periods, just kills my thumbs.

Back to my Trusty Sony Playstation 3 :) Nothing ever goes wrong :) It's a US Launch 20GB Version although HDD has been upgraded.

RE PS3 catching Fire, i can guarantee it was the user's fault and not a faulty unit.

When will they release the new Xbox with Bluray, as I am getting tired of developers keeping back on PS3 as DVD can only take up to 9GB of data :(.

All this data wasted on Bluray disks. Graphics and games could be a lot bigger if a new Xbox got released!

But it has been a good ride for Xbox gamers!

Still playing my (nearly) 4 year old 360. Only sent it away once in that time and that was a few July this year.

Damn, remember getting 2 and selling one for over £500

This is not a fanboy thread, what has the size of data got to do with the 360 being 4 years old?

So the moral of the story is......no-one has a launch day 360 still going that does not produce errors or has had parts replaced? :p

Or did I miss someone?

I'm on my 3rd, still keep coming back...happy birthday 360! :D

Dead or Alive 4 got delayed a bit but its the best launch title anyway imo :p

Couldn't agree more. Dead or Alive 4 for the Xbox 360 for me is like what Soul Calibur as a launch title was for the Dreamcast. Whilst Dead or Alive 3 was also a launch title for the first original Xbox, it just didn't feel as polished enough i.e. a rushed product. It was still a good game though.

I wonder if the next PlayStation or Xbox will have a big name fighting game to show off initially what they are capable off. It's kind of like a standard game genre that should be avaliable at launch.

4 years and still churing out very good looking games. Crazy that a PC struggles to do this.

Must be a new one coming soon.

Because PS3 exclusives are so much better than anything available on the 360 because of all that extra storage?

A belated Happy Birthday to the Xbox anyway, I never thought I'd end up spending so much time on the 360. When I got one at release my wife said I'd have it sold by the following February which would normally be the case with me but I have 3 in the house! :p

Got my 360 on launch, it RROD 3 hours later:(. The replacement then died in March after buying Oblivion. And then that one died just over a year later.

And this one has lasted the longest by far, but I think I may upgrade to an Elite when this one dies as the Core is pretty old now.

My launch day console is still going,

Its had one E74 error in all the time I have had it. Gave it to my brother as I bought an elite and hes managed to make it RROD once!

Happy Birthday 360! :D

The 360 coming out isn't exactly out of the blue...

I guess that's why Sony dropped support for the PS1 when the PS2 came out, and then dropped support for that when the PS3 was released.

Oh wait....

I'm still bitter about Microsoft's hamfistedness on the transition from the Xbox to the 360. Hopefully next time they will do a better job of it. The Xbox was a good console and it deserved & warranted the support, not to be suddenly dumped like a hot potato with leprosy.

mines from June 06 and the DVD drive has been a bit fussy recently so I have a modern warfare 2 super elite sitting waiting for me at christmas
