If this was a straight sex scene no media would have reported it and even if you did know about it you wouldn't have created this thread.
 
I am actually quite chuffed that this thread has generated such a strong response, if only because whilst my opinion that this shouldn't be in the game is clearly not strongly supported here at least we can have a sensible debate about this kind of thing!

Clearly your issue is you personally find gays and gay content offensive, and you are clearly ignorant thinking that it could somehow influence kids to choose that lifestyle ( so preposterous).

Oh as for on topicness, is someone really likely to spend hours building a relationship with a character in a game just to see a gay scene that is more suggestive than it is revealing or are they more likely just to google "hot gay sex"

Can have gay relationships in The Sims yet that isnt an 18 cert game, has anybody told the Daily Mail yet?

Actually you're mistaken if you think I am a homophobe. One of my best friends some years ago was outrageously gay (no longer live near each other so don't see him anymore unfortunately) and he was the kind of guy who you could share a cuddle and a laugh with. Never had a problem with him and wasn't at all scared or phobic of physical contact with him.

But this isn't about a phobia of certain people, it's about this kind of content in computer games - an interactive entertainment media which I thoroughly enjoy but wouldn't enjoy seeing this kind of thing in games.

I've not at any stage in this thread said that it could influence kids lifestyle choice, but I wouldn't be comfortable with kids seeing this kind of thing. Hell I wouldn't be comfortable with my parents seeing this kind of thing.

The scene is there for a CHOICE.

I don't have children, I don't want kids to see it, I don't really want to see it since I'm not gay. *BUT* It's an 18 game. FOR ADULTS. There is content in there which is a choice, you are just picking on it because it's a tiny gay scene which lasts for probably 10 seconds compared to the hours and hours of gameplay where you are cutting peoples heads off yet that's fine and dandy?

You are *NOT* answering the questions people are putting to you, instead it's the game "on hoes, the person is gonna make gay lovez! Helps!" each time. We are telling you there is far worse content in just about all 18 games, probably 15 rated games than that one scene. The straight sex is fine though right? No danger of confusing a child? Do you actually believe 1 tiny gay scene is going to corrupt a childs mild to make them want to be gay?

Did you take the line from ralph literally in the simpsons movie where he saw bart naked and said "I like men now!" to actually be true?

Your argument isn't based on logic, if you told me that kids get access to adult material too easily, I'd consider looking at your side of things. But singleing out a single gay scene in one game just is very weak.

Furthermore, people in real life are gay. If you believe that people don't know that (and certainly children of 13 + do I imagine) or become uneasy around it that's your problem. If someone is gay, that's for them, their choice. I saw a lesbian couple the other day walking around town. I've seen plenty of gay men too being couples, that's in the open in real life too! What about a woman french kissing her boyfriend in real life! It doesn't stop does it? It's an adult game, i'm sorry, but if a kid gets it and it crushes them to the point where they are a crying wreck, tough. They shouldn't have got hold of it, and if a gay scene (where you can't even see anything) does that, they would be killing themselves after playing Resident Evil or Silent Hill.

If children get something which is not meant for them, that's not the producers fault. It's adult for a reason. I'd be more worried about seeing people explode in to a million pieces or burning them alive in game and showing it to a bunch of young kids.

They might see two men and forget it thinking they just are friends. The man running around screaming as his flesh melts from his bones might stay with them a little longer though.

Technically I don't think there is any interaction with the scene, it is a video which is the result of answers/choices based on the conversation. You don't control the sex scene. Just close your eyes to the video. :p Plus you don't have to choose the sequence of answers to achieve the cut scene.

Let me run through your logic here.

Some games are made for adults and sold to adults but a few children can get their hands on them. Remove adult content from games!

So following the same logic:

Cigarettes and alcohol are made for adults and sold to adults but a few children can get their hands on some. Remove cigarettes and alcohol from the world!

... see where I'm going with that? Most things designed for adults and sold to adults are not for children's usage (hence only being sold to adults :o). Should we cease production of all of them just in case a child gets hold of whatever it may be?
 
So you have no problem with killing in games but anything gay is too far? :confused: You are a homophobe - you didn't seem to have any issues with heterosexual sex in games.

If children are playing the game then it is their parents' fault for letting them play an adult game.
 
I am going to experiment and try to get my party members to do the gay thing


I will report back if I start wearing tighter pants and t-shirts that are too small or I walk with a mince in my step

You have no real arguement at all. Just an opinion that you feel is right, that a gay scene is unexceptable in a game yet you have given no valid reason as to why except, the kids can get it !

Zomg they can get gay pictures with a simple google search. Should we ban google ?!?
