dirt 2 benchmarks dx9 vs dx 11

Ati just plastered DX11 in an old generation of graphics cards just to beat nvidia and now we can see t he results of that. They managed to beat nvidia on release date but they have no stock and games perform terribly with just a few dx11 effects. Lets wait for nvidia to save the day once more.

How much did nvidia pay you for these words of utter rubbish.

Old generation? Its only a year old.

How long did the 8, 9 and 200 series last Nvidia? Which if you didnt know was all the same chip....

Its a bit wide of the mark but the ATI 5 series is closer to DX11 shoe horned onto an older architecture than a new design for DX11 - the next generation of ATI cards probably won't bare much resemblance to the generations before it in contrast.

To be honest I'd be happy with 5870 even it if it was a DX9 card, it runs DX9 games lovely and fast.

DX10/DX11 are more of a bonus really, to me they seem to be small IQ improvements with big performance penalties.

I think the sooner people move on from XP the better. We won't see full utilization of newer DX's until there isn't a market base for DX9 any more.

Indeed the 5's are a shoe horn DX11 job.

Compared to a real shoe horn job they don't look like it - but in the bigger scheme of things they are closer to it than the alternative.

I know one thing, i would sooner play in DX9 fluid, than DX11 choppy! extra DX11 effects or not. lets hope the new drivers give a big increase to FPS

isnt this like stating that at 1280x1050 my card is faster than at 1900x1200.

theres more going on in the DX11 than in DX9, wouldnt it also be faster than DX10, as someone stated the less work the card has to do the faster it can do the work its got, not really rocket science is it. the thing that troubles me more is the fact its even being done in DX9 in the first place.

i wet my self a little when i wread this, i mean i laughed that much i actually peed myself, more for the fact the very reason i held off buying a graphics card for so long was that i didnt want to sell my 8800GT just to buy.... well another 8800GT with a differant sticker on it overclocked a touch to try and make some sort of half arsed effort

250GTS is a die shrunk card with more SPs than an 8800GT :P and the proper 200 series has far more SPs and other enhancements.

DX9 is faster than DX11 shocker!

DX9 has also been around much longer, and DX11 introduces new effects which are going to need optimizing.

They may need some optimization but thats not the main reason they run slower, new technology allows us to run newer effects which previously could not be done. Details like tesselation add a lot more detail into the scene that DX10 and below simply cannot do, it runs slower because these new effects are generating a much better image quality.

the next successful directX iteration will be the one next gen consoles use.

Probably DX11, The next generation consoles can't be more than a few years away, when they release they'll do what they did with the current gen and impliment an old well established technology rather than opting for a much new less tested one such as DX12 which will probably be out around that time. Just my guess.

This is the most stupid thing I've read in about a month, and I read a lot of internet forums so thats quite a feat...
