CALL OF DUTY MODERN WARFARE 2: BUGS AND FIXES.

I tried that yes and it didn't do anything

Along with Defragging the game files via steam
Doesn't do anything I found.

Or at least it didn't fix my problem anyway!

But here's something that someone may be able to help me with...

After I validate the files for MW2 - multiplayer, it tells me, after it's done, that one file wasn't validated and will be (or needs to be) reaquired or something along them lines.

Did it before I reinstalled it too, so I'm wondering if that has anything to do with why it won't work?

the 1 file not validated tells me you may not have follow my instruction to the letter as thats exactly what I was getting. Not to say that my instructions will work in every case mind, but I would say steam and MW2 are abit like oil and water. rather difficult to mix.

Uninstall ALL your steam titles, via steam, uninstall MW2 multiplayer before single player.

Uninstall steam from add remove programs.

Check your folders to make sure its all completly gone... (i.e. check your programfiles (programfiles(X86) if on win7/vista) and check your user folders, XP its in your docs and settings under your username, applications, local, in win7/vista C:\Users\**your PC`s username**\AppData\Local

when your sure you have no steam (or VALVE) folders left, and your game are all gone (annoyingly) Then reboot your computer and pop in your MW2 DVD and start the install, make sure your net connections live before you start the install.

It should install steam first, you should get a message during the install saying "downloading content" then once steam is installed, continue with the game install .

My game was downloaded from Steam and I get 1 or 2 files un verified. Steam then says it will reaquire them. A check reveals they have been aquired. Then play the game, and next time do the check, and the files are missing again.

This is the same for L4D2 and MW2, the thing they have in common of course is the mysterious Steam Cloud :p

It's enough to make me go back to CSS. Which is inevitable anyway :)

My game sometimes crashes during killcam when someone is using an AC-130 or when I am a chopper gunner but never crashes in normal gameplay. It totally locks my system and doesnt ctrl-alt-del out. I have tried turning down textures and the like but it still does it, any ideas, I'm running an ati 4870 x2

Dunno if this means anything but I've just run 3dmark vantage in extreme settings and it passed, what else could i use to try and stress my system to find if its a hardware fault, I'm a bit rusty with the other programs.

I suppose it could just be the game or steam though.

Im still getting the occasional freeze, ive updated direct x through steam apps but its stil freezing.

didnt work for me, this is doing my head in, I cant put my finger on whats causing it. I have no overclock either. Again AC-130 causes it to freeze, but normal gameplay doesnt.
