I think i will be doing the same this morning once i finished the work around about 06:30am ish.

Edit:Are you using manual gears as well or gone back to auto this week.

When I first tried out Auto I was still in the mindset of Manual so I was changing UP gears through habit. Anyway my point is if you use Auto you can still Short Shift you just can't max the red line when you want like in Manual. You can also change down manually using Auto as well.
You can use auto & like Marine has stated, short shift out of corners by manually changing gear yourself.
This could prove beneficial when the priority is being smooth & picking good braking points over maximising speed around twisty sections, I still recommend Manual over Auto though. Of course I appreciate why lewdogga uses auto gears. Great time BTW lewdogga

I must admit I do wonder how much quicker I could go with a wheel as well though. Do you use the G25?

Wow! I was under the impression you used a wheel! Yeah i use the g25, well worth the money. Means the differnce between me not being able to play racing games. You would definatley be a lot quicker with a wheel
