195.62 nvidia drivers released whql cert

I've tried everything I can think of now. Still no joy. I uninstalled my old drivers completely then rebooted, installed the 195.62 and rebooted, still not working. Windows says it cant detect my graphic adaptor and if I do a manual install the drivers wont install either. So gone back to 195.39.

I used the international exe to install. Only other thing I can think of is my card is overclocked using evga precision but didnt think that would make a difference.

dmsims did you use the internaltional exe or the english one ?

One last thing @varkanoid

Presumably the card shows correctly in device mangler

yes it does,

just tried with English version and realised the FINISH message at the end which I didnt pay attention to says

"your system was not modified, you may need to reinstall drivers"

so for some reason 195.62 won't install on my system.

this is doing my nut. Going to try the previous 191.07 WHQL drivers see what happens.

and all you nVidiots **** AMD off for poor drivers oh LOL

No we don't, but at least nvidia release frequent updates. That's one of the good things about their support, not to mention the large amount of performance increases. They've probably kept the 8800 series going for an extra year or so.

just need to figure out why now.

Thank god ATi don't do drivers like Nvidia
Why did you say that? The 195.62 are great drivers like the all the other drivers from nvidia. Oo now I understand why you say that because you have an ati card(with drivers that gives you endless troubles) and you want to feel better.;)

As always they work flawlessly for me on 4 different Vista installations (all legal as well btw!). Not had an issue with installing Nvidia drivers over the top for over 2 years now ;)

ATI make terrific hardware but without the driver support to match what's the point  The day ATI put the resource into driver & games development Nvidia do they will dominate the market & Nvidia will be in deep trouble (but you may be waiting a very long time ;)).
