Accident

Its a hire car till the other one gets fixed or new car

I don't think it makes any difference as it wasn't my fault- additional driver. I won't be getting insurance next year anyway hopefully University

Glad you are ok & have a new car to play around in, Don't forget the rules, Hire cars Must be Thrashed to within an inch of there lives. :D
As you are 17 I'd take the oppurtunity to practise your hand brake turns & getting the back out whilst doing roundabouts.
Have fun. :D

No it wont.

Sorry, a Bus Driver crashes in to a row of stationary cars and you think fault won't be assigned to the bus driver?

The cause being is that a double decker bus behind my friend obviously didn't notice stopped traffic and gone straight into the back of my stationary friend at considerable speed.

Do you think this claim is going to be paid for by anyone other than the bus companies insurer, and there is any likely outcome other than the bus driver getting at least a "due care and attention" prosecution?

If so please explain?

PS. Lynchy hope you are ok, first vehicle accident can be a smidge scary!

Apperently statistics show that if you are invovled in a non fault crash you are more ikely to be involved in a fault crash at some point so some companies increase premiums for people for non fault claims. Not all do though so you can just shop around to find one that doesnt

Doing fine just got a really sore neck from crash. The worse injury if the fiesta driver who has whiplash same as me and done muscles in wrist his passenger as the same but sprained ligament in knee.

Yea it was really surreal, kind of everything happened then heard all the smashing noises then took me a while to realise what had happened

Correct. Whne I had to declare a non-fault claim, it increased my premium with most insurers. The amount varied between approximately 5-15%.

It is true some can, depending on the circumstances, usually when they don't want the business, but you can find plenty that won't, I had experience of this myself, so I know the impact with some companies, but this guy should come out of this with his no claims intact if it is dealt with properly.

No claims is different to having a non-fault accident on your record.

It's got nothing to do with NCD. Simply declaring a non-fault accident/claim can increase your premium with many insurers.

Do a little research yourself and you will see it will almost certainly 99% positive increase his premium, insurance companies are very funny with no fault claims, you see the above posters also agree it will up his premium, I’m with admiral and have a no fault claim and that increased my premium :(

I have had 3 not my fault accidents, 2 of which were rear end shunts, never had an increase at renewal only a reduction, only due to a theft claim have I had an increase.

I guess it depends who you are with, thats 28 years research by the way, few more than most here ;)

You cannot go by price comparison sites, just ringing round and explaining the circumstances can cut an online quote considerably. Any insurer that increases your risk because you were hit while stationary in a queue is insane.

That will be most of them. Fortunately I don't quite have the accident history that you seem to have gained, but the one non-fault claim I have made in the last 22 years (knob on scooter crashed into the front of my car whilst arsing around in a car park) increased my premium, not by a large amount but it was due to the claim.

A guy I used to work with had his Golf broken into (door locks attacked with a screw driver) and rang his insurance company to see what effect a claim would have on his premium. He didn't claim in the end, but come renewal his insurance company actually refused to renew on the strength of that phone call.

Insurance company have said that it wont effect the price of my policy or anyone's on the insurances premiums or no claims. When I do have to apply for them on my own insurance i will be about 21 then at the earliest.
