Corsair H50 Any Regrets Fitting ONE?

got me thinking now moving over to a h50 would free the side fan up on my 1200 to blow over my CF. Ok the big question can you fit one in the case without removing the mobo...not a chance im redoing the cables again :p

bear in mind a true sits there now so it has the 1336 backing bracket there anyone?

Possibly if your mobo tray has a hole in it to allow access to the rear of the CPU socket.

I`m only running a light but completely stable overclock on my PC (i5 at 3368) so it could be considered overkill but it gives more options for the future. Also I use all four memory slots so I wonder if other coolers would allow that.
You don`t have to run two fans on it either. I`m using just the standard corsair fan and have it setup as outlet and the temps are well cool despite there only being one other fan (inlet at front of case).

Very happy with the H50 and should last a while as it looks of good quality. Isn`t the MTBF 3,5 years of constant use? MTBF`s are pretty acurate these days. Just recently two superfast hard disks in a server at work failed within days of each other. WHen calulating how long they had lasted the MTBF very acurate.

High overclocked chips could possibly cause them to fail earlier I suppose, much like car radiators probably don`t last as long in hot climates. Also if some evaporation does take place, it`s more likely to be an issue with high overclocks.
Right now mine is idliing with all four cores at 19-20deg, not that it means much though, but it has been on all day and the H50 is exhausting also with just one fan so there is no heat buildup. I don`t think cases get as hot these days as yesteryear, cooler running chips and mobo`s etc

IMO of course :)

up and running
34 - 48 on load on standard fan and paste
ordered 2 fans for push pull and extra for case as gpu seems a bit hotter now i dont have cpu fan on mobo .

easy ish install , happy .

How flexible is the tubing on these. I was wondering whether I could fit one in my SG03 (under the powersupply) with the radiator mounted at the front.
The case can't fit a cooler above 82mm high, so I'd be really grateful if someone can let me know whether the tubing is flexible enough for it to be mounted correctly in such a cramped case :)

I'm well happy with mine. i7 4ghz idles at 37c-40c and maxes out at 68c-72c.

relative to that idle that load temp seems too good to be true. In a cold room with push pull as an intake mine tops out at 80 after 30 passes of max stress (~5gb) of IBT.

As for tubes - they are fairly flexible but maybe not enough to make an 'S' shape - they'll do an 'j' shape easy enough but the bend isn't that tight. That said the H50 is well built - mine has had loads of hammer and works flawlessly.

If anyone has ruined one by puncturing the rad beyond repair drop me a shout - I have a little project for one...

Now mines fitted i love it but as i said in the other thread i found it a pig to install.

+1

I replaced my external setup with this, and now that it's in I like it. Much quieter than my external kit, most likely as it has 3 less 120mm fans! But so far I haven't had to reduce my overclock, which was my concern. But when looking for a different setup and for the price this is great. But yes, a right nightmare to install.

Spend the money on a new case maybe? Thats if you have space...

awesome bit of kit and thats coming from someone who had a good water-cooling set up.

im glad i took the plunge and got one.

makes my case look less cramped and less noisy now.

Would this be as good as my TRUE running push/pull? I have my Q6600 at 3.6 & would like something a bit quieter.

I get about 65 to 70 load temps atm. Using an Antec 900 case.

I've always used big coolers like the Scythe Infinity, Sunbeam Tuniq Tower and True.

Now I was kinda sceptical but thought I'd give this H50 a try. It's very nice and keeps my dear Xeon a lot cooler during load temps. I can highly recommend the H50. Nothing but good feelings :)

Not that there is anything wrong with big air coolers (if they don't use pushpin, that is) ;)

besides the fact it doesn't fit in my antec 1200 case properly which ****s me off no end. It's quiet, operates well and has made the inside of my case look more roomy, which i'm sure some of my components are overjoyed about.
It does have the advantage of not blocking any ram ports which is great and having a push pull can be achieved using one less fan then you normally would with a regular heat-sink due to using one of your case fans. However it is expensive and not something i'd think to recommend to friends if i'm honest.

Mega impressed with mine got it today with the Haf case and 2 Akasa Smoke Ultra 120 fans for push-pull on it , before on the Zalaman cooler i would idle 40's across the 4 cores on a Q6600 and 70c at 3.2, now am prime95 @ 3.2 its only been going 13 mins though but 38,43,43,39 am gob smacked.

Now i just need to find a good guide to o/c this more.
