Steam, 50% off Arkham Asylum (plus a few others)

Well my thinking is that to paly the original campaign maps in the sequal you'll technically need to own a copy of the game.

Whether or not valve officially allow this is another thing mind.

I have a feeling Valve will eventually integrate the original game with L4D2. Not sure how that's gonna play out for people who don't own the original. Maybe they'll stab us all in the back and make it a free update after paying good money for in the past. :p

Can anyone tell me how good the Ghostbusters game is in terms of how well it was ported to PC?

I'm tempted to buy it but if its ported badly and needs some insane spec PC to run well i'll pass. I know my CPU and RAM is up to the job but i'm concerned as to whether my 9800gt will be ok with it (I game at 1440*900)

That's the minimum the game suggests so you shouldn't have a problem. Downside it's another game needing to download about 10 gigs

Hah Chapparal I'm exactly the same. I've downloaded Grid, Day of Defeat Source, Fallout 3 and L4D2 within the last week and I'm only on a 2MB line. Usual download speeds are anywhere from 300-400Kbps on a good day and anywhere from 50-120Kbps on a bad one! :(

Kilobits? Really?

for 300-400KB/s you most have a 4mb line....(2mb tops out at about 240KB/s)

I just download all of my games overnight on my netbook (which is almost silent) and then transfer them to my desktop once they are done in the morning. :)

On my line I average about 4Mb/s.

RE: bandwidth

i downloaded grid the other day and it was 6.7gb. over 2gb of that was foreign language audio files. now to me that's a huge waste. nearly a third of the bandwidth completely wasted. they really should have an option before you download so you can choose what you want.
