Is BF2 worth getting now?

Hi all

I used to play this a lot in my *cough* clan days *cough*. It did entertain me. But, should I get it now, given that I will have to start again or try and remember my password? Or, should I wait for BC2?

It's still the best online FPS out there with a Massive following.
 
For me it makes Every single game since it was released limited & annoying except Forza 3 but then that is a Completly different story. Most here know I've played since day of release & still play to this day, I've promoted the game as much as poss in a hope that the game would last, Fortunetly it has but that has nowt to do with me. The real reason BF2 stands the test of time is simply because it is the best online FPS. All other games are worth a shot whilst there is that new game buzz & community build up but sooner or later you'll come back to BF2.
For me no matter what game I play about 20 minutes into it I think to myself **** this I could be playing BF2 so I leave the game & go play BF2 for like 3 or 5 hours Solid buzzing my **** off & laughing till my jaw aches with a bunch of randoms.
The only thing that stops me playing is Forza 3 but then will I be playing that in 4 plus years ? I hope so because knowing a game like I know BF2 is the Best gaming experience I've ever had & I am from Space Invaders & Asteroids era.
 
Agggrh so tempted to buy this but worried about BC2 uptake in Q1 2010. I know its cheap, just dont want another game I buy that I just dont play...

malc30 makes it sound like how Q3 got me and I played that solidly for 5+ years. I never got into the BF games until BF1943 and I have to admit I much prefer real world weapons than bloody WW2...

How does it popularity compare to TF2 and other team-orientated FPSers?

Buy it mate it's worth every penny.
 
BF2 is a very good game. If you can get it cheap many people still play it and it is highly addictive.

It is a game you can always go back to and have a completely different experience each time online.

I played it for many months before moving on but I would always consider re-installing it if I had some time spare and fancied all out war fare :D
 
I bought it as well.

Have the original but the annoying disk spinning when entering servers or even new maps does my head in so bought it again.

Great game if abeit spoiled by over use of helicopters and planes.
 
Still a great game and i recently got my final unlock :D you should be able to get ur password emailed to u if u can remember the email address u used to sign in.
