Rofl, listen to yourself. Mosques are not banned, so what you are suggesting is total rubbish. It was banned due to prejudice and a way of attacking a minority with something that could actually be passed in law. Minarets do not offend or have any use. Therefore it has no purpose in banning them.

I don't see the problem with minarets, but it's their country, their rules. It's not as if they are banning mosques so it's not too much of an outcry - it's a bit of an exaggerated fuss for the sake of it really.
 
 
A quick scan of the papers this morning, and low and behold, the only cantons that had a majority vote was the Nazi loving UDC ultra-extremist cantons like Alpenzeller and Scharzee.

The much more moderate, and friendly, Suisse Romande cantons such as Vaud and Geneva voted against this.


The voting merely reflected the Swastika donned skinheads. and don't think that i'm joking when I call the UDC party the Nazi party. They are. The UDC is a sad byproduct of social-cultural isolation and rampant nationalism gone bad. They are not only racist, but openly fascist and even openly anti-semitic.

Luckily not every swiss is UDC.
 
Mad props to the Swiss I say.

All they are doing is restricting what can be built in term with their own culture and style, they are not restricting anyones right to practise a certain religeone or build places of worship.

It's hardly as big a deal as people are making it out to be.

Make no mistakie, this vote was not about democracy, tradiiton, or architecture. It was down right racism.

If you don't believe this then you are either ignorant or a racial fascist like the rest of the UDC.

Considering you are just reading newspaper headlines then I can assume most of you are just plain ignorant.

Really? According to http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/europe/article6936802.ece "a large majority" of cantons voted for this ban.

For those who are burying their heads in the sand and don't think minarets are a problem, please can you explain why the Turkish prime minister calls minarets the “bayonets of Islam”? (Source in above link).

As far as I can tell, Miarets are directly associated with Islam which last time I checked was not a race, also they are not removing anyones right to practice the religeone of their choice or restrict the actions of a particular race.

A majority of the cantons that are not within Suisse Romand voted against the minarets. Within Suisse Romand a majority are not racist and the vote did not go through.

1/3rd of the swiss german population are neo nazis. Thats not dismissing, thats fact.

The UDC fascists did not vote against Minarets per se, they voted against Muslims, as foreigners. No one gives a **** about Minarets here, the Nazis voted as an attack on Muslims. If they had a choice they would simply vote to "send them all home", which is prohibited by the federal laws.

I can assure you, my swiss fiends are disgusted at their fellow countrymen. So much so that they wish to be separated from the UDC Nazis.
