Dreaming of a Hayabusa

Incidentally Mr Rilot & Flukester. Did you do the short tie bar/dog bones mod to jack up the back end an inch and quicken the steering on your Busas? I did and it made quite a difference. Can't find the exact dimensions now though.

I kept mine stock as didn't have it long before I wanted the then new 01 R1.. wish I had given it more of a chance though, certainly less buzzy and rev happy than the ZX12

The older I get though the more attractive the bike gets, I want to be really lazy and pull from any revs, but still want warp 10 on the odd occasion :)

Gonna get a test ride booked up come spring I think, dont think winter is a place for a 08/09 busa, traction will be zero..might try a ZZR1400 as well as they have improved it a lot.

Yes I did. Made quite a difference but I needed to spend some time on the suspension to make it cope with the revised geometry without pitching all over the place.

Here's mine back in 2002.

Whatever you do keep the GSA! I went from a GSA to a ZZR14 back in 06 as I had a serious case of speed lust. Worst thing I ever did.... Now if you can have both then your talking :)

Spie, I know what you mean about the Busa.
I'm seriously thinking about buying one again when I'm back in work. It's an itch I need to scratch.

Told you ;) no matter how good the allrounders like tigers and GS's are there's nothing like a stupidly powerful sportsbike to make you giggle.

so true about trying to find the perfect bike. I've given up now - the ZX12r with helibars ticks enough boxes for me. Guy I ride with has a k8 busa and it's lovely. Much better build quality than my kwak, but the kwak looks better, is more comfy and whilst the busa edges it on hp both are more than powerful enough.

Indeed. Had a ZX12R before my Busa. Didn't have the Busa's torque but it was seriously quick.

I think the 1098 would be a bit small for Spie, im only just pushing 5'7 and it felt perfect for me. Different kind of bike to the busa too.

Size. 6ft7in and 36" inside leg.

Sweet LORD who are you the BFG?

I know how you feel in a way. im 6ft 2 and sitting on things like R6's and such make me feel like im on some sort of circus bike.

What about a ZX14R or are you set on the Bussa? I like parts of them but the bubble seat kills it for me. and the 2010 exhausts are horrid.

I'm going to demo a ZZR14 and a Busa next year, but I have a soft spot for the Busa.

Shorter tie bars increase rear ride height and quicken steering. Add Ohlins shock for good measure. Ditch the awful twin exhaust and fit a full Akrapovic system. Throw in a Powercommander V. That should do it :D
