dirt 2 benchmarks dx9 vs dx 11

some people are so funny. the 5770 is an amazing card and 2 of them are awesome!! so think next time before comming out with such rubbish before we burn you for it xD

He's some lovely content for you chaps, I originally posted this on the hardocp forum but figured you'd appreciate it too.

Don't expect amazing driving though I get a bit owned, I had my wheel plugged in but didn't set up a proper profile outside the game and just configured it in game, it worked OK although no force feedback however the pedals were ultra sensitive so only really sharp breaking and accelerate xD

I forgot my "blooper" video when trying to make the vids xD

Also youtube has made all the vids full 1080p HD now, thats the res they were recorded at so check it out, not fantastic quality because compressed to wmv first then by youtube.

As for the HD 5770 cards, these are part of the budget range of cards, they're not bad but you're not going to push high resolution, lots of AA/AF and new DX11 effects you're going to have to dial a bunch of that stuff back, probably best to dial back the graphics settings.

Indeed, I have a HD5870 also and that has no problems with Shift, however the 5770 really struggles for some reason.

Even my GTX280 has no issues at all with Shift, and thats using a Q9550 at stock.

one of the many reasons why i dont buy ATI cards:D

be on standby for descent performance in shift with your 5770! ati are working along with EA and there is a patch comming out for this game very soon which dramatically increases performance with the new new ati cards and shift =] not that i have a problem myself. but for anyone that does :P

Good to hear, the games pretty much unplayable on my HD5770, even at only 1280*720 it can't handle the settings maxed, not even including AF/AA.

It's that bad. :(

Yeah im finding exactly the same problem in shift. When i had my 4890, i was averaging 60fps, on everything max and 1680*1028 res. With one 5770 i was getting around 30fps.. totally unplayable:(
Now ive got two and getting 65fps.. still not much more performance than the 4890:confused: Roll on that update someone mentioned

So long as you don't play NFS Shift which runs like crap on my 5770, having to stick most settings down to medium to get playable framerates, it's pathetic.

Runs like crap for me to, but not a card problem that though, its a game prob, and as said above, the patch is due tomorrow for it thats got performance improvements for ATi, but im not really bothered now with this coming out, should have sorted it ages ago :)

My fps not that high really low 40's all on ultra and it makes little difference changing from 4-8xMsaa on the fps, my 5850 is at 5870 clocks but i only running a [email protected] maybe that's holding me back ?

Rather than make a new thread up i was debating whether to buy a Quad Q9550 LGA775 'Yorkfield' 2.83GHz 12MB-cache, would this give me any real boost over my Q6600 go or should i hold off and save for a I5/I7.

DX9 to DX11 is HUGE in quality, the water effects in DX11 version is sooo worth it, its much like running AA at 16x and so on even when that killz the performace compared to quality, 5770 is slower than 4890, so why didnt you get a 5850 or 5870?

Why don't you wait until the proper demo before deciding how well it runs? Running on a beta demo means nothing.

I thought it was a proper demo? Codemasters put it up on their site, it's not as though it was leaked.

Not sure why they took it down though.
