*** Official Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Thread ***

has anyone looked at the online leaderboards for this game? the people at the top have impossible stats. i dont care how good they are the stats are impossible and some dont even make any sense! kill streaks of 2000 etc, winning streaks running into the thousands as well. there is just no way

So you're going to chuck the game away because your router is crap? Makes perfect sense.

Nowt wrong with sniping, I'm useless at it but that's just me. On certain game modes it's a perfectly valid tactic.
 
Am enjoying my first foray into MW2 online though not doing so good at the mo - missed out on cod4 so have 200+ hours experience to catch up on!

Whats with the 1000+ kill streaks at the top of the leaderboards?? EDIT* posted just after red and white.

Lag i've had, but usually the server just migrates after a short time and its all good.


As for people not following the game modes, well sniping is a perfect valid tactic as a defensive class in HQ... (not that I ever snipe, can't stand it), more times he kills them less chance there is of them capturing the HQ...

Mines strict, I can sit testing for matches for 10-20 mins

I was top on my team with points about 1250 and about 10 kills and 20 deaths started losing and was left with 2 people on my team, so its just pointless, I captured the HQ and I saw nobody for over a minute.

Yeah, I got bored of MW after about 10 hours online, I am up to 8 hours online now on MW2 and its just not doing anything for me.

Stat boosting.

Will be people making games and just shooting their friend over and over.

it is very sad. the guys doing it seem to have similar names as well. a few start "MaFia" and some "Le2" or summit like that. guess they are mates playing private matches to do it. shame because it would be interesting to see how good real players are.

On another note, how do you get Akimbo secondary shotguns, or is this not possible, they have to be primary?

I cant see Akimbo as a challenge when I look at my shotguns, but people are using them as such?

I love people like this

Just means you can find them every time and kill them before they see you. Especially handy if you can find a way to sneak up on them and knife them in the back / shotgun to the face :D

only available on some shotgons. The sawnoffs and one other i think

Not available for the Spas12 or the AA12 for example.
 
The range on those model 1887's is ridiculous. Akimbo on those should be a primary weapon. Whipping out those bad boys as back up is silly IMO.

But I could have sworn the I saw a guy wield the "Ranger" Akimbo, but when I checked it was not an option?

I want my "South East London kid" class to use it when I can't stab people

leaderboards tell lies.

but anyway,

i have godawful accuracy.. like 11%... yet...ill keel u many times during a game. honest i will.

a few ppl on my friends list have 16% some even 20+%!


but at the end of the day, play to your own ability..i wont ever get a streak of 25, ergo i dont equip Tactical Nuclear strike...yet i have been in games where other folk have done just that....

I was on sub base in a high window and a guy one shot killed me from the floor using 1887's.

From the floor smashing the glass and it still killed me. They are supposed to be sawn offs not mini barrets. These people rarely win a game but it's annoying to lose a streak to what is stupidly ott range for a sawn off.

A sawn off shot gun at even close range should never be as deadly as a P90.

Yeah its crazy. I also dont think the SMG's are that great in this game. Seems a few of the assault rifles take there place while keeping all the benefits of a high accuracy long distance weapon. ACR for instance. I've been using the SMG on hardcore though but every gun on hardcore is a death wand.

Yeah, it seems pretty weird. Took me absolutely ages to do it for MP5, so much that I was going to give up trying. However only an hour for AK47. :confused:
 
I have a crap kill:death ratio and about 13% accuracy-ish?

I don't understand all the sniper hate, I love sniping, more than 1 location, just get to a nice place and taking people out, its just the same as people wanting to run into the middle of the battlefield, preference, tbh whenever a sniper gets me on the run from a good position, I just smile and think "Well done!"
