Are SSD's totally silent?

I'm interested in getting an SSD not for the speed, but for the fact they have no moving parts.

I would be interested to know if they make any noise at all..

mine makes a noise when the sata plug keeps falling out!

but on a serious note I could have sworn I heard a very slight squeel coming from mine - but its practically inaudible.

Perhaps capacitor squeal or something if you are unlucky

My intel x25-m is silent, not even any audible cap squeal here.

No noise whatsoever, but if you install one in a fanless system or a laptop you may hear capacitor/coil squeal that's normally masked by the noise of the hard disk.

I hear a very slight hissing noise when the SSD in my laptop is working hard and the cooling fan isn't running.
