Just got to laugh...

I can't help but feel the wrong people are getting in trouble for this. The people running the show should have known all about animal rights where they were filming and it's up to them to educate their cast and crew.

iirc no one cares about the animals rights in so much as it being killed.

Simply that it was killed on a tv program.

Sounds stupid, they eat cockroaches so how do they place more importance on a rat than other living creatures

Yes, but my point was that the producers should have known that killing animals would have been a problem and if they didn't they should have asked the RSPCA officer who had been overseeing the whole thing.

So it was eaten for food...are the RSPCA going to prosecute for the billions of creatures we kill every day for consumption?

i hope the court bans them from ever making the show again and a few people are hung, drawn and quartered, and their heads stuck on pikes as a warning.

Crappest tv show ever

Seems a bit uncalled for but then I think that about the grubs and think the program is utter swill.

I just don't think that they really needed to do that, they weren't really starving and never would have been in any danger of starvation.

In the show Shipwrecked they killed and ate a pig, the killing wasn't shown on air but the sound of it squealing was aired, nothing ever came from that.

Surely this is no different, I was shocked to see that it's going to court, what a waste of time.

It's not really performance if they ate it surely?

It's not like they danced around poking it with sticks while singing ABBA tunes?

If it was just part of a 'bushtucker trial' where they had to decapitate a rat to win a prize, then that might be cruel. But it wasn't. It was dinner. So it's not cruel.
