I'm surprised we're still building new propeller aircraft. What's the advantage (obviously there is one)?
Looks like a C-17 with propellers.
Basically more efficient and better for rough strip landings.

Why do people still think we are in iraq ?
Maybe because we are, maybe not as many as before but we still have guys over there.

no we dont - the only people left were people training iraq armed forces, we pulled out ages ago, though were recently called back but sat on the border and then came back without going in to resume training anyway - their military will crumble from what Iv heard, ill disciplined and stubborn.
The only thing we have to do with Iraq is the Navy patrolling oil rigs offshore.
ok perhaps I wasnt being too accurate.
We're not actually on land as a fighting force, the fighting force is offshore and its not a substantial one, its not going to be leaving the oil rigs anytime soon.
The officers in baghdad is something im not aware of, take whats in the media with a pinch of salt, its not comparable to a frontline deployment in terms of manpower and budget as far as iraq is concerned now anyway.
Unfortunately, the avereage Muslim in Iraq won't differentiate between British combat troops and British non-combat forces. He'll correctly conclude that they all look the same when they're burning in the aftermath of a car bomb.
Coincidentally, the A400M flew for the first time today.
Average Muslim?
You mean lunatic.
average Derby/Norfolk bloke is a dumb hick dont you agree ooo arrrr!
All the AVERAGE Muslims I have ever met are fine. It's the lunatics that bother me but thanks for the insult, you stupid ****
They're there in a training capacity. I.e. non-combat role.I thought there were still hundreds of officers in Baghdad who are helping direct the training programme, plus you mention about the Navy being there, so we do still have people in Iraq.
Yes, but the military budget is still tiny. The Scottish government get more when you factor in all their perks and extras.Saying the MoD is being starved of funds is stupid, no matter how much money we spend on it they will always overspend, if they don't their budget would be cut back. The MoD, like the NHS, is a black hole, you could throw as much money as you like at it and there will always be problems.
Civilians dont realise how much the MOD waste money, they are overcharged by private firms for pretty much everything - I would like to see how much the MoD are charged for stationary.
The prices they pay for DII computer terminals are frankly a ****ing joke, its scandelous.
My pet hate is that the RAF are still paying core meal prices upfront, getting gucci steaks and what not, lovely food, whereas the navy & army are fed utter ****, and to top it all off certain RAF mess' have subsidised alchohol.
They'll spit there dummys out if we ever make it to an equal tri-service.
