Why do PC users dislike Apple?

Mac users are PC users.

This ^

Or are you a Mac a PC or a Linux? :p

Also i find Mac users rip on the windows OS and says how good Macs look, thats not a very good comparison is it. You carnt compare an OS to a monitor/Case.

Windows OS does everything you would/could need
Mac OS does not

Mac cases look ver nice indeed, but limited on design.
PC's, well you can make them look how YOU like

Except Windows doesn't run Final Cut.

Most PC's look garish and horrible and most people don't want to have to build their own. PC enthusiasts are not representative of your average PC consumer.

Jeez the world is a big enough place to accommodate both Macs and PCs, they both have their place. Theres way too many haters in these forums.

Why anyone would want to adopt such a binary position in favour of either camp is certainly beyond my understanding. Its ludicrous, futile and petty.

Edit/ Some of the comments by others in here just make me cringe. Why 'hate' someone because of the computer they own?

Mike that's not the point, it's the apple fanboys beliving the apple adverts and thinking there machines are better and not overpriced PC's :)

And Chimerical, you carn't name a single programme and say Windows cannot run it, you can name a TYPE of application.

Thats just like me saying OSX cannot run Crysis

I don't dislike Apple. I dislike the majority of it's users. They use it as no more than a fashion accessory, the iPod and iPhone being the height of such nonsense.

i like it how people go out and spend loads on pc's and then 1 year later its worth nothing lol. A friend of mine did this a year ago paid loads, could have got a mac pro. Now he wants to sell and buy a imac but its just worth so little he cant face making a loss. Where with a mac pro you could sell it for nearly what you paid for it a year later lol.

This gave me a good chuckle, and a warning the link does have the F word :o

Then don't post it - Link removed

Hopefully PC haters can see the funny side of this too, as im sure most here can

That's because they bring out new software/games that utilises the latest and greatest hardware on the PC platform, whereas a mac runs next to **** all in comparison so the low spec components you pay through the nose for stay "in date" for longer.

Down to the fools who will pay that price, not because it's worth any more in terms of hardware than the PC equivalent.

So your saying he should go for the lower spec from the start? i lol'd

For gods sake, it's been acknowledged several times in this thread there are some people who buy apple's products as a lifestyle brand. But that has zero relevance to the people who buy it because it makes sense and they're good products.

The ipod was for a long time the only music player with a simply, integrated digital music store available (now that doesn't matter to those who're downloading their MP3s illegally but it might to normal people). And calling the iphone a fashion accessory is getting old now, it gets a lot of good reviews, it's got a lot of functionality and if it was useless then the technology wouldn't have turned up in so many other handsets (multi touch/capacitive screens etc I don't remember being talked about beforehand...). If I could find a better device than the iphone for my uses I would have bought it already.

Which is why I didn't say all.

And if you care about getting an extra 100Mhz out of your CPU or actually gaming in general, then Mac's aren't for you. Nobody disputes that. Thing is, for most people those things don't matter.

So if you seen a car with less fetures for more money you would go for the more exspensive option? Because you dont "need" those extra things, you logic is terrible :p

Apple are still the "new" thing because nobody else is doing it, thats why people like them so much, and so they can be anti-bill gates

So? I don't get your point. I use PC aswell, in fact I'm on a PC at the moment and own a Mac Pro.

The fact is, Mac's run Final Cut. I use Final Cut, Final Cut is good. Also, OSX is pretty stable and I like the whole package of a Mac Pro and build quality etc.

The amount of hate PC and Mac users have for each other over something so simple is pretty pathetic. Also, I don't get the arguments about price. I bought my Mac for £1500 (HE discount) back in 2008 and it has dual CPU, etc. I remember checking how much an equivalent PC (i.e. one with a dual socket motherboard) would cost at the time and it was about the same.

In my eyes most machines in life are about the specs: cars, computers, electronics, sound, etcetc. I want the best specs/performance for buck, not spend a lot of premium because ''it's cool''...

But it can do far less, you can't even play a directx game on OSX .

Yeah but using an analogy that a Macintosh computer is like an Audi R8, very nice build quality and looks stunning but may not be as fast on paper compared to your boy-ed up R32 Skyline with loads of modifications, which may be faster but still not have the desirability and awe as an R8.

Also, what a pointless comment about DirectX? Do you know why DirectX isn't on the Mac? Hmmm quite a big hurdle to cross there...

Yes. You're somehow stuck in a world where specification is everything. I'd buy a lower spec Golf over a vauxhall with more features, sure I'd do that if I thought the ownership experience would be easier/better and I'd get more enjoyment out of it.
