Anyone thought of enetering OCUK L4D2 team into a league? Could be some good tactics in clan matches for vs.

I would like to play, but time is a little tight for taking it too seriously.

I like to keep the game as much fun as I can, and think I would find playing it too competitively would counteract that, at the moment we do a few team VS games to keep things interesting but that's about it :P

L4D was bad enough for competitive play with all the randomness. But 2 is even worse when gamebreaking locations are decided mostly by pot luck on what infected your team spawned with. Losing because your team got a Jockey and the opponents got a Charger isn't fun.

I think anybody who takes this game seriously and forms leagues and competes has really lost the plot as to what L4D is all about. It is too random, too many variables too many bugs to make it anywhere near fair for both teams. I feel you can't put L4D on the same level as CS or any other team game that is played competitively. There is an element of skill involved but it is nowhere near the skil level required for some team games where there is a clear distinction between players abilities. With L4D even average players if they play together and know the basics would do good against any other team. Just too many factos beyond the control of the teams to make it a purely skilled based game.

Don't get me wrong there are some good teams out there but compared to other team based games the gap is not much more than your average 4 vs 4 friends standard.

Just tried getting the 'Beat the rush' achievement in survival and got to 6 mins using just a baseball bat and didn't get the achievement. What gives? :mad:.

I never used anything else, killed tons of infected and special infected and even a couple of tanks. Do you need to not have the medals already? I have 16 mins on bridge map already. Bit of a silly achievement if you cant even get it once you have all golds.
 
yeah you can;t have the medal already.

needs to be the first time you get it on that map.

Say you do parish bridge and already have a bronze on that map you need to get to silver to get the achievement.
 
Thanks, grr the bridge level would have been perfect for this.

I still have a few maps to do so hopefully when a few friends come online I'll get them to help me get it. Tried with randoms and there is no chance lol.

Also think I'll get 'tank burger' at the same time.
 
played thorugh hard rain 2 time on expert now and completed it quite easily but myself and the team DO NOT get the achievement,******* game,its worse than L4d1 for bugs,i think i9m gonna enable sv cheats and get it that way as we have been cheated out of expert 2 times now and cannot be bothered going through AGAIN!Stupid game....

You did survive yeah?

You have to be on the boat and alive to get the achievement.


And if you're on about still something to prove have a look at it in main l4d menu not in steam and it will tell you what maps you need to do yet. (you have to get them all)


You get no achievements if you enable sv cheats.

yeah i survived and we all got away on the boat but when i checked the stats ingame it had 0/5....its annoying,i checked in stam and ingame...still 0/5...i heard if you turn sv cheats off they work?

I remember seeing a video on youtube and they turned it off just before going into the safe room and it worked. But that was for L4D1 ages ago, so they may have fixed it now.

I never use cheats but in your situation i think its your only option really. I know i would be annoyed if i did all that and didn't get the achievement.

yeah it makes you not want to go for any other expert achievements as you may not get them..to hell with this game,roll on Bad Company 2 i say:p
