COD:Modern Warfare 2 Moan Thread...

Thread rules, your 3 biggest gripes about MW2 without the obvious dedicated servers one, what are the other top 3 things that annoy you about this game.

1) Overpowered akimbo antique shotguns shooting across the whole map.
2) Hackers, been aimbotted way too many times over the last 7 days...before anyone says anything, I know the difference between a good player and an aimbot.
3) Almost impossible to get your friends together for a FFA match, anytime you create a group, you HAVE to be on the same team, almost impossible to get the others on the same map without cycling around a few times.

That's my top 3 moans, what are yours?

2. Not being able to pick what map i want to play on, to even have a chance ive to hop in and out of the game mode to find a map i want, and even then its not guaranteed to play that map as it sometimes switches for no reason.

2. The way those selfsame people now moan continuously about what a crap experience the multiplayer is, despite having plenty of forewarning,
3. The proportion of the above-mentioned who will almost certainly buy map packs and other DLC that should be as free as it ever has been, and the subsequent ramifications on future titles that will definitely affect PC gaming across the board.

I didn't sign the boycott, I waited to make up my own mind. While for the most part, I enjoy the MP and it's not as bad as it could have been. These things annoy me.

3) Not being able to pick what map I want to play on, or it being the map you want and then changing randomly.

I know it's supposed to be only 3, but the problem is with player hosted games is when they leave, you join another and it ends up being the same map again.

I signed the petition for dedicated servers not for a boycot.

1) People who think they have took the higher moral ground by not buying it.
2) People moaning about cheaters.

1) Hackers or the illusion that everyone is hacking is making it a poor experience.
2) the ridiculous akimbo western shotgun - shotguned from 100 yards makes you want to quit the whole thing.
3) lobby system

Oddly all of which would be sorted by having a dedicated server. IW = retards.

I will not be buying map packs ever.

At first I took a keen liking to MW2, I never played COD4 multiplayer or liked it so MW2 was essentially like playing a new game for the first time for me multiplayer wise. However since playing it obsessively since release, I began to understand why people were boycotting the multiplayer aspect of the game.

So now from experience of playing for a while my dislikes are:

1. The number of hackers everywhere at the moment.
2. The lack of dedicated servers causing a number of annoying connection issues.
3. The fact the multiplayer game browser searches and selects a map for me giving me very little choice or control.

If they could just solve these 3 problems I think it would make a lot of people more happy but because they are acting on their high horse about this, I frankly don't see it ever happening.

Akimbo Mode shotguns can't shoot across a whole map, that's a complete overstatement. Sure, they are as noobish as noob tubes, but with the right tactic, they can be beaten. It's the typical "meh sniper" "meh P90" "meh knife" complaints that all gamers cry about, when complaining about whatever weapon that beats them.

Apart from dedi servers and silly hacks, the game is fantastic IMO. Only thing it really misses out on is the team play that you get in the likes of BF2. That plus the ability to select a map or get mates together.

I'd like to see you play COD2 or MOHAA and kill one shot with a shotgun from the range in mw2. Its pathetic. If you were'nt on top of someone in mohaa they turned around and laughed at you using a shotgun.

Didnt buy it and not sure I will. Was obviously put off by the whole dedicated server issue but I really didnt like the kill streak rewards in MW1 and in MW2 they look ridiculous. Oh, one player is really kicking some arse, well lets give them a hand!! wow, theyve racked up another ten kills with a perk, well why not just nuke the opposition!

I really dont like the idea of the kill streak bonuses, I'd rather they just stripped it back to a well balanced set of weapons for each side, the current system seems to pander to the console trend of throwing rewards at players every ten seconds and it puts me off as much as the dedi server debacle.

Apart from that, them stupid akimbo'd shotties are so annoying, they haven't got the range right on that. Oh, one more thing...I expected a cool "nazi zombie" equivalent. Maybe...Taliban Zombies?! Haha

But this isn't COD2 or MOHAA, or BF2 or any other FPS. It's MW2. If you were skilled in BF2, you could own with the M11-87, yet not many complained about that because not many exploited it. I think the range is just fine, there's plenty of other weapons to use that if used right will make someone yielding Akimbo Mode's an idiot.

I know this is related to the lack of dedi's, but it is by far my biggest gripe with the game.

1. Lag and host advantage.
When I'm the host, I shoot someone with the famas and they die straight away, I don't have to stick another 3 bullets in him and wait to make sure I killed him before moving on. I don't like to be the host because I have a massive unfair advantage. When I win, I don't feel like I've earned it so when I am the host, I'm forever quitting the lobby and finding a new one in between games.

2. grenade launchers and people camping in corners. People with learning difficulties should have their own servers to play on. Oh hang on, there aren't any servers, my mistake.

3. kill streaks
Care packages makes it a bit random. Someone losing can get something like a heli and win the game. It would be nice to be able to play the game on a server which had no kill streaks. I mean it's fun and makes the game a bit more interesting but I'd like to have the choice.
