dirt 2 benchmarks dx9 vs dx 11

It certainly plays a lot better on my X38 board now which replaced my P35 today.

Although I think it lovesssss Quad Core chips as I've had to reduce down to 4x AA from 8x AA to make it feel nice and playable.

Core 2 Duo E8400 at 3.8Ghz
Radeon 5770 Crossfire

1920x1200 - Ultra Settings.

What do you use to overclock?
I have a sapphire 5850, and I'd like to try overclocking it beyond the catalyst limit without flashing the bios

iused amd gpu tool to clock passed CCC lock and msi after burner to adjust voltage... got sick in the end and ended up flashing the bios with the msi bios... as both bios's are identical in every otherway apart from the unlock core/mem clocks on the msi bios.

Don't forget though, if you flash your card.. with another Manufacturers BIOS, and it dies and you send it off for RMA.. then the warranty will be invalid.

if it's totally died they wouldn't know that it has a different bios on it..

if its dieing then u can reflash it with the original bios.

plzzzz help me guys...!!

my system specifications are-
1. AMD Phenom 2 x2 550 3.10 Ghz processor
2. 4GB (2X 2GB) 800 Mhz DDR2 RAM
3. MSI Radeon HD 4890 1 GB Overclock Edition
4. Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-US2H Motherboard
5. Cooler Master Extreme Power Plus 650 Watts PSU
6. Windows 7 64-bit OS (everything mentioned above is running at stock settings)

the FPS (Frame per second) on my PC is in between 40 to 75.. & its has not even touched to 35 also during 7 to 8 races which i had played already in the career... & my problem is that the FPS is fluctuating really very badly withing 3 to 4 seconds during the gameplay or in other word.. while racing in the game.. i have already applied & installed "DIRT 2 FIX" from AMD support but the problem of the fluctuations is same becoz of which the gameplay is not at all smooth & also making me little bit annoyed also.. i run it at 1280x1024 resolution at ultra high settings, 8x MSAA with vsync Off.. to check this fluctuation problem.. i have also changed my settings to 640x480 @ ultra low settings.. but the problem is same.. also i have just finished running "memtest" & there are no errors at all...so i just want to ask whether any of you also facing the same problem as mine... & is there any solution to fix it...??? plzzz help me..!!!

Fluctuating from 40 to 75 is normal. Not all sections of gaming will be as hard to render as others.

If you're suggesting there is stuttering not being picked up by FRAPS, the yes that is a problem.

I have the HD 4890 and I find that 8xAA is a bit much at 1920*1080. With 4xAA the frames don't drop below 50 and runs smooth as silk.

I have the same problems with stuttering. It usually happens on corners, and is particularly bad on some tracks (Malaysia is unplayable)

My PC should certainly be able to handle it, and changing the graphics settings makes not difference. I'm running:
i5-750 (slightly OCed)
HD5850 (overclocked to CCC limits)
4Gb RAM

There are posts on the codemasters forum with similar problems linking it to a sound issue, but I'm not sure if that's the cause for me since they concern PCI soundcards. It's a wierd glitch and I haven't seen anything quite like it before, the framerate seems constant while the action stutters.

The final game runs worse then the demo, so i'm guessing they missed some stuff out. Forcing DX9 mode on my HD5870, I can't tell the difference and the performance hit is actually pretty big.

Also getting some stuttering to start with, but it does go.

1920x1080, 8xMSAA, Ultra Settings, DX11 (I assume!). Sapphire 5970+5870. Outside view ...

For those suffering stuttering, try switching between Catalysts 9.10, 9.11, and 9.12 - some people have stuttering in one of those but not the others.

For those giving frame rates: it's meaningless unless you also state whether the camera is cockpit-view or behind-the-car view - cockpit view gets much higher fps.

At 1920x1200, 4xAA, all settings on maximum, I get minimum 38, average 45, with my 5850, in behind-the-car view.

I have started noticing some stuttering in the latest catalyst driver, with FRAPs active, and I wasn't experiencing that with the earlier driver.
