Excellent news. That's how films like this should be, because let's be honest if a giant scorpion decided to lay down the pain on a human being it wouldn't be a bloodless affair.

Well...most of the gore/organs (yes...organs) come form the scorpions. They havent really started on the human gore just yet so I'm a bit unsure as to how bad that would be - but im sure itll be pretty violent :D

In fairness, the whole point of the trailer is to advertise and reel people in. if the trailer looks terrible, or gives the impression of a crap film... either the film is crap, or the people making it don't understand how to capture peoples attention.

Either way, off to a bad start. Yes, sometimes bad trailer != bad film, but the trailer is one of the most important parts of promotion. It's sole purpose is to make the film look good.

wellll....I do agree with you on the most part however I can think of quite a few cases where the trailer was horrendous but the film turned out to be great.
 
I watched it this afternoon and hated it. The 3D, which was an afterthought in response to Avatar apparently, was pretty bad and gave me a headache. I prefer the 1981 version.

Hope you enjoy it though.
 
I saw this at the cast and crew screening last sunday (in a good cinema with a fantastic projector) and the 3d was STILL horrendous. It really did ruin any charm the film could have had (of which it has none I thought) and I hope this sudden grab for money by the studio backfires on warner brothers through word of mouth. I have already recommended everybody I know to watch this in 2D.

Furthermore from a CG perspective I thought many sequences were extremely poor such as the medusa sequence and even our own scorpioch battle. I'm not sure about medusa but with our studio the scorpioch's look has changed drastically since just before the first lot of trailers and it was definitely for the worst :(. I dont know what WB were smoking.

EDIT: As you may have noticed above I said the scorpion battle would look great - I have to take that back now because after so much faffing about by execs not knowing what they want - the scorpions now look to me like they were ripped from a game from the GameCube. Avatar wins - full stop. Well done Cameron :D
