GT5 demo December 17 !!!!!

No1 really cares for GT5 anymore... People LOST interest about 2 years ago after it was announced delayed again..

Er lol, i'll keep this post ready for the sales figures after GT5 release, GT5 has not been delayed as its only ever had one release date announced which is 30 March 2010. As for its sales if the demo of GT5 can sell over 4 million which is about the same as Forza 2 im sure that interest must be pretty high

Man, I now remember why I stopped posting on the GTP forums a few years ago. The entire population there is in denial or something...You mention one bad thing about it and you are branded a troll and verbally abused whenever you post again :( Don't even think of mentioning Forza! Absolute fanboy central.

I still have hope for the final version though. Compared to the videos from TGS, this demo looks more like a prologue addon than something built on the code which the TGS demo was using. Why they did that, I have no idea :o Huge fan of 1, 2 and 3...I did not like 4 so much. Hopefully they get back on the right track :D

Except he didn't mention any facts at all in his post.

Its a 200mb download and people are moaning about textures and the crowds?! Unbelievable! Its a freaking competition, not a full game demo. Of course its going to look pap, its incredibly compressed.
And to me the physics feel a lot better than prologue, dunno how people are wheelspinning out at 40mph, I'm doing fine with a pad

lol

I think 4 million sales of the 'demo' Prologue says otherwise.

With regards to improvements in the GFX's, I personally didn't see any but I honestly don't care tbh, I just want a proper GT game with loads of tracks/events etc, GT5:Prologue is still the most graphically impressive console racer out so it's hardly like it's taking a step back, why improve an aspect of the game that is still on top, I'd rather they concentrate on physics/handling, crash damage etc.

Slowly losing interest in this game, its a shame as I have been pondering about buying a PS3 mostly for this game. But when Forza are realising constant updates, then why bother? Sure it will be awesome, there is no doubt about it. But Forza 4 will be out what a year after GT4s release and no doubt will be better.

Just downloaded this, being pretty much new to the GT series.

Went in with a completely open mind, and I found it really dull. On 1080p, it just looks plain, very flat repetitive textures and not much else. I do hope (and expect) this is just a cut down version, but they shouldn't splatter Demo over the game, as it may put a lot of people off.

It doesn't help that I hate using the PS3 pad... but I think I'll be sticking to Forza for now, will hope a better demo (of 1GB++) comes out sooner rather than later with a mix of cars. I think I'm getting GT5P for xmas, so I'll form a proper opinion of it compared to the demo then.

Some of you guys are a real laugh, honestly from whingers about the crowds not being improved and comments that it looks like GT5P etc.
Are you just nit picking?

Youd think that FM3 or any other racing game out thier didnt have areas of weakness either. My god have some of you seen the poor textures in some of the FM3 backgrounds and even Shift doesnt escape dodgy graphic areas as it has very blocky car models.

I think it is quite clear this is Prologue SPEC III build with some form of small update to handling and physics. Errr hold on wasnt something said about this as being the case?
The car feels fine to me, turns in okay, the back end snaps as youd expect and its going to be quite a challenge requiring a good degree of skill to get a decent time in this.
It definately needs a smart well controlled and patient driver to be good in this, you cant go gong ho and be quick which is realistic.

Also already on this "Comp'emo" it has better leaderboards than the crap ones FM3 has.
Did any of you moaning notice any good things like:
Upto the top 260 cars? are available to download as ghosts and both Tuned and Normal class feature this.
The leaderboards now indicate who has "Wheel or Pad" which I think is a first?

Try going on FM3 to pick a track and have leaderboards for non tuned cars seperate, err it doesnt offer it which is a major stupid mistake for TT fans.
Also even try selecting a car model and race only the best times in that car, opps sorry nocando, not important to T10 it seems.
Finally in FM3 how many ghosts can be downloaded fromthe top times, yes another major duh!

If people want to pick at things then well those are fine examples of how FM3 hasnt tried to move forward or offer great ways for fans to enjoy competitive racing.

At the weekend just out of my own sheer interest im going to compare the 370Z in FM3 on a track with similar corners, just to get a sensation of the feeling from both games and how they play on the wheels. So I will set up two wheelstands, both with Fanatec wheels and have each console and game on at the same time for instant changing over. This way it wont be a case of trying to remember how one felt or played to the other but will allow 1:1 comparison.

Might be interesting.

Final note to add if you dont play GT5P or indeed FM3 with a wheel then your not getting a proper representation of the games handling and control.
Totally changes the games in a sense of input/output regards its physics and handling.

That final note Mr Latte has hit the nail on the head! I was just chatting about that with my mate tonight. I have played GT5p on a G25 and it felt good. No doubt this will feel good also. The problem I have is it no longer feels right with the controller. I know It is a driving sim.. But I don't have anywhere to attach a wheel and really do want to play the game with a controller. As Id imagine will many many people. I really do feel it has started to go a step too far. I'm a big GT fanboy as well.

Of course if they had kept it more controller friendly then people would moan it wasn't sim enough lol.

I can go into how it feels different and why I feel it's starting to not work with the controller but I've got a feeling you will know all of it anyway ;)

Still looking forward to it :D
