Mountain bike advice in here

Pretty much the best AM hardtail frame you can buy, not cheap though!

Yea, but OP didn't mention is has to be brand new out the box, some ebay shopping could be in order

I would have agreed with you until my mate ripped the headtube off his and he was running 4inch forks :(

...says the man who bought a TRek Session 8 :D (sorry couldnt resist)
One off maybe... the Stiffee has been around for a while 9in a few different guises) and is classified as a FR HT, haven't heard anything about them breaking/tearing and all those sorta nasties

As I still havnt sort this out, this is the last day tbh to order anything or im giving up.
My mate has suggested the "Kinesis UK Maxlight XC 120" read some reviews and looks promising. designed for 120 - 140 (with some sag)

What are your thoughs, only 3.5lbs too so would suit my weight obsession. but will it fly down rocky Knarly decents like my On one summer season?

edit - Sorted now. Spent lots of cash :(

Very interested in what you got as I have the regular 456 and whilst I would like it lighter, I can't see what frame I would buy for the same duties for a reasonable weight loss without going ti (which would obviously be sick! especially with blenders going for £600ish).

Bought a XT Crankset, New Crank bro 2010 predals to replace my MXr's... and On-one Summer season 20" in orange. So spent less than I Planned and sold the 18" SS and SLX crankset. All in all spent £200 instead of £400

No doubt when I will get a TI next year sometime, but the Summer Season is such a good ride!

True but you misunderstand the whole picture.
a, its 20" so better fit.
b, It looks better.
c, Taken from the original post "So I want a bike like the Summer Season but A WHOLE lot lighter," but used the money that ive saved approx £300 , ive spent in other places such as XT crankset and new pedals which did need replacing. ive also brought a Park tool bike stand! Which ive wanted for ages.

So ive got a bike like the Summer season (well durr) but better spec than what it was. And ive saved ££ so im happy. The only thing that is the same is the weight :(

But will probably use the saved ££ to justify a TI 456 early next year.

May be I was misunderstanding everything... Went for a ride and felt like I wasted £150. The bike looked cheap and rode cheap. I went riding with 25 people today, they all said, "lost your job or somin?" and it felt rubbish. even the 18" summer season was a lot better than the 20" orange On One MONSTROSITY . Time now to buy the Maxlight XC120 and i'll post up a post in the MTB thread.

Have you had a look at the Ragley's and Pipedream's

Have you seen or ridden the kinesis?

If you loved the frame before and you think the larger size was better plus you have better parts, is it not more down to something simple like stem length? The Kinesis looks like good value for money but it isn't in the same league as the other frames you were/are considering and I feel you may just be disappointed again.

Cove Stiffee

I like the Cove Handjob, a friend built up a Cove Hummer and it was only 1 LB lighter than his previous Handjob with the same components. They ride the same and therefore I would say that the price difference doesn't justify the 1 LB in weight you save.

been looking at the Cove Stiffee, and Lorraine (wife) has said i can get one LOL if I shut up about this b***dy frame.

So what size? im 6FT and a 32" inside leg. CRC have the 17.5" and the 19.5"

17.5" - 23"\ 585
19.5 - 23.5"\ 597

the 19.5" is slightly smaller than the on one but im not sure the .4" is enough. but the 17.5" looks a bit small.

lol. A smaller frame is always good but it depends on the riding you do and what you prefer. But I would say the 19.5" looks like the better option

Size wise, how did you not like your last frame?
