GT5 demo December 17 !!!!!

Id like to see Ibert, Timbrad, and James Millar add their times to the running time thread. Well lads you up for it?
Having played this for about 2 hours today and once you start getting the hang of it, certainly in the tuned car (all ive tried) it is possible to appreciate how good the physics are.

Watching the replay really shows how the car moves around and responds to the throttle.

I'm without a PS3 at the moment so i can't do it.

I'll probably just wait until GT5 comes out before i get another one.

I downloaded this yesterday, the car handling is all over the place.
Its not predictable or realistic in the slightest, my fastest lap time in the 20minutes or so I gave it (on a pad) was 1.43 something or other, and there didnt seem to be any real way of getting it down any further.
I've no doubt the full game will be an enjoyable experience, but this demo isnt.

The problem or not is that pro phyics are for wheels and very good pad drivers. when you consider that moving the stick fully left is the same as putting full lock on a wheel its easy to see how the cars feel skitish. This is not for the average joe driving game fan its for the top GT racers in the world, thats why the physics and settings are set up like that to give them a challenge us mere mortals just watch on lol.

And why they want the winner who will get to drive the car, has to have some skill with a wheel and not just a pad.

It actualy is for the average joes like you and me guys.
The rules stated anyone with a professional licensce from any kind of motorsport cannot enter the compeition.

Lots of the top times are from "gtp" players and I know 4 others in the top 50-100.
This is players from "avforums and gtf" that Ive played online with before.
Just regular guys...

Check out the latest number 1 time which is 1'35.9xx
I watched his replay from onboard and its a serious bit of skill.

Id love to see some of you pad players move over to a wheel to get your input/reactions.

More than likely the same reactions. As getting used to the wheel takes ages also lol.

Unfortunately I don't have £200 (wheel and stand) to spank on trying.

I meant average joe as the average gamer, not a pro license holder but someone who spends a lot of money and time playing sim racing games rather than arcadey ones.

Okay but "PRO mode in a tuned car with zero TC and stability" is harldy right up their street. Some of you should maybe try the Tuned car with a bit of TC added to help. Ive seen some still pretty fast times with this.

Various comments in different forums, it seems yes the STANDARD car has very little grip with the N3 tyres and isnt a bag of fun to drive and I bet it looks and feels slow.

Yet at the same time people doing good times with the tuned car are indeed praising the physics of it. Id say its up their with some of the best cars in FM3

New Dec 25th Video
Shows ROME & MADRID and what seems like a Top Gear challenge with two cars (from previous trailer) out accelerating a "Lear Jet" at the TG track

Poor Quality But Worth Watching
