ooooo .... remember how we didn't expect the second series of YUA to be licensed? .... well Sentai have solicited their March releases and highlights include:

You're Under Arrest: Full Throttle Collection 1
Tayutama: Kiss on My Deity Complete Collection
Yozakura Quartet Complete Collection

That's right, they are now soliciting season 3 ...

:D:D:D

March is looking good what with more A__a and more YUA ...

Little update for my codec installs (maybe a little off topic) :)

With windows 7 pro x64 I now have all but rmvb (no sound and not exactly a huge loss :)) working in both x64 and x32 wmp and x64 media center. No reg hacks or anything required and it's all appears to be using the built in media foundation codecs where possible :)

In case others are interested installed k-lite x64 pack, ensuring that ffdshow (audio and video) and matroska splitters are to be installed. Everything is unticked in ffdshow except for rmvb, theora and vorbis codecs (not built in :().

Then installed CCCP 32bit codecs - removed ticks on everything but theora and vorbis at install and then checked in ffdshow that only rmvb, theora and vorbis were ticked.

Subs are dealt with via directvobsub (or more precisely vsfilter) plus the latest matroska splitter (in cccp) for dealing with auto selection of multiple audio/subs tracks.

So thinking about it after the above - all I actually need when I install the new gpu I'm after and reinstall the os is directvobsub (vsfilter), ffdshow and matroska plus the above configs and I'll have everything working nice and clean :)

lsg1r that sounds about right :)
When I installed Windows 7, I think Zoom player only had to locate a couple of the codecs from it's download site and so far everything works :)

You know, I'm starting to take a dislike to Section23, what with their ability to reach into my wallet and take money out :p
It's great news to know that more YUA is on the way, although possibly not too surprising given their licence of the older series :) (a year ago I would have put the likelihood of YUA Fast and Furious at about as likely as Macross 7).

I'm on the last disc of This Ugly Yet Beautiful world now, and it feels almost like Gainax said "why bother" in terms of story etc, for some reason it's not really holding my interest fully and seems to be very samey with some of their other animé.
I'm enjoying it, but just not really taken with it, if that makes any sense.
Although it is very echii and does has it's very funny moments.

Well due to having no job right now and at a complete loss of anything to do, I have compiled a list of anime to destroy my time with.

Currently have Noir, Madlax and El Cazador lined up as they are technically a "trilogy".

Also:

Juuni Kokuki
Serial Experiments Lain
Wolf's Rain
Texhnolyze
Monster
Noein
Speed Grapher
She, The Ultimate Weapon
Mushishi
Tsukihime
Now and Then, Here and There

This is going to be a goooood holiday.

Yeah this show had a bit of promise, but it went into hell at the end. Going into this after coming from Mahoromatic, quite a lot of people did question what the hell Gainax was doing at the time.

I just hope the Gundam 00 movie will redeem the failure of the second season. It was okay, but I mean after all the political build-up from the first, I would have expected it to be a lot more serious and not had turned into another Super Robot show. Innovator my arse! Damn Sunrise wanting to just sell more model kits perhaps.

Hopefully Gundam Unicorn shouldn't disappoint as we will finally be back in the Universal Century era. And as it is an OVA series, don't have to worry about TV ratings or the normal simple minded viewers that just want pew pew lazer shooting robots.

i know i liked season 2 but the whole fact that ali al saches almost survived again really got to me but was so glad lyle finished him off :)

Ribbons's dual gundam thing was awesome but it was abit too powerful, i reckon setsuna would have been defeated if it was reality lol :P

and i know simple minded viewers annoy me, you can tell it got to them in the second season because theyre was no twisted stuff in it, like in the first series when lockon was killed, that stuff usually doesnt happen due to viewer pressure :)

Yeah with the whole Lockon thing, what the **** was the point if he was going to be replaced and it barely made much of a difference in the end. The little thing with Anew Returner didn't even help either. No real backstory apart from just a few tibits of information, or lack thereof.

There was so much more they could have done, the 3 power-blocs before the unification could have really been something, especially with how scary this was close to what a real life future would be, but that got phased out too quickly, and the "time skips" were such cheap way to complete miss out on anything that could have been important. The show was prided to be very character driven at the start, just a shame it went offboard in the second season.

Oh yes and "Trans-Am". Why did they have to overuse this and turn it into some sort of "Super Saiyajin" mode.

true yeah, then he got mad with setsuna after he killed her even though they had been together like 2 seconds.

true, in the first season it was all to do with they're pasts and the bombings in ireland and stuff, in the second season its like LETS MAKE MOMENTO MORI and wipe half a continent out ... crazy stuff

haha dont get me started with dragonball z, i love the show but it ****es me off with the whole 'lets fight till were almost dead then go ssj even though thats what we should have done in the beggining' lol

'trans-am' was cool at first but then towards the end of season 2 everybody had it so what good was that lol

I agree totally ... it seemed like it'd be quite a good little series but the execution of the story was poor and the series as a whole just felt meh!

This Ugly Yet Beautiful world - started ok but by the end I was like, why did I bother watching this, the ending was just wrong for the series.

Gundam 00 - I liked both series although I always wanted to know how grahams mecha could be anywhere near as poweful as a gundam, especially gundam 00 in the second series as that was supposed to have increased in power by the power of 2 (squared) with the 2 engines. Also you never ever saw the red engined ones just run out of power (ignoring the red gundams) and stop.

I am waiting on the movies that are due out (00 and unicorn supposedly) at some point.

Yeah that was another annoying thing about it. The first season at least showed you the progress of technology until the UN were given their own GN drives, then after that and onto the second season, all the limitations basically became non-existant hence the Super Robot-ness.

Graham's "Bug" mobile suit was pretty cool but I agree, that thing had to be modified substantially to even keep up with the likes of the 00 Gundam.

Ribbon's giant superweapon of death near the end was another thing too. Granted that it was able to switch out the GN drives, but that just seems like too much power for even the red ones.
