Its got a very buggy as hell save system. Whenever Dirtnet goes down (and it does a lot without telling you) then you can lose ingame progress. So you can be playing SP mode for hours and because Dirtnet goes down you lose that progress towards % completion. Only way to recover progress is to replay all SP events again
(yep I'm not kidding either). When this happened to me I always checked Dirtnet was up after every race as well as making sure I was connected to GFWL & the ingame achievements panel in your trailer was matching GFWL as well. Codemasters really should not even have released this until the save system was fixed I spent an extra week on the game to get 100% SP & MP because of their buggy save system Unfortunately that save bug is more serious as eventually if you play it long enough it does destroy your saves no matter what you do. Massive threads about this on the official site and naturally CM have not commented at allI found a bug, and a fix.
We all know the save system was pretty dodgee with the original Dirt, i dont think much has changed with Dirt 2 either.
The bug:
had a mate round playing Street Fighter, i use a wireless pad, had to connect him a wired one. had a few bashings on there, then put Dirt 2 on, my save would not load, was corrupt!
Closed dirt, Removed the wired pad, and started Dirt 2 again, loaded perfect. Seems that either wired pads screw something up, or having more then one pad connected at the same time.
Either way, if this happens, make sure just one pad is connected
All you can do to limit damage is backup your entire saves folder every time you exit the game then if you get corruption just copy/paste them back in and live with only losing 1 game session progress (as opposed to all progress which has happened to some players ).what mod is this?
