Not being funny, but you drive a car that is going to stir up opinions, surely if you care this much about what people on a random internet forum think you wouldn't drive such a vehicle? Or modify it in such a questionable fashion?

But it wasnt a "look at my new car" thread, it was a help me get a stolen car back thread.

It was the ****ers on this forum that started up about the poxy stickers.

Who cares what it looked like, he just wanted it back.

Anyway glad it worked out for the fella and its been found.

Hi guys, im actually the owner of this car, and muchly appreciate the smartarse responses by some of you. Yes, it is an R26, no, its not an R26.R, and i've never claimed it to be. I had the choice between F1 Team or R26.R decals, and chose the R26.R ones as I prefer them, whats wrong with that?

Appreciated the support for people saying they'd look out for it at first, then the general slagging of my stolen car seems a bit unfair.

Didn't ask for a debate about how it looked, and quite frankly after being awake for 48 hours, spending the entire day getting every lock and door replaced in my house, and spending the entire evening tracking down my car (Which is actually still in the area, as I almost managed to block it off in a road), I didn't really expect to come back here to find this.

A friend helped me out by posting this on here, it was his mistake to call it an r26r, ive not claimed it to be an r26.r as its quite clearly not.

Keep your smartarse remarks to yourself (individually directed at certain people), and if you aren't willing to help someone whos just had their £20,000 car stolen on christmas day after being burgled, then id appreciate no input at all.

And for the record, No im not a chav.

Cheers.

Dont worry mate, it's not a BMW you will get no love in here.

Who cares the make and model of car he drives or you drive...or I drive. You pay for the car you mess around or leave alone anything you want with the car.

Wait, Jade Goody's dead? :o

Was wondering why she hadn't been in the news for a while :p

Head, sand, out!

If you pay enough attention to notice she's not been in the news for a while how you could have missed her dying? Which oddly enough, was all over the news.

He drives a 1999 BMW 323i SE.

Actually its a 2000W BMW 323i SE. Completely unmodified apart from clear lenses. Though having read this thread, I am considering getting some black alloys, tinted windows and some red 'M' stickers ;)

Well not quite as bad, the point still stands, I was exaggerating so people could understand the concept.

Oh get over yourself. It's a internet forum - it's about opinions.

The Megane had already been hit with the ugly stick a few times before it left the factory, but when you then blacken the wheels, add some tinted windows and stick some bright red stickers all over it, so that it resembles the A Team van, it looks absolutely ridiculous.

Renault had a complete abberation with this in the looks department:

It looks ridiculous, and yet people still want to copy its looks. Just goes to show that you can market anything to certain parts of the population.

And its going to attract attention...and not necessarily the right sort of attention, as this thread has shown. And it potentially has insurance implications - 'Has your car been modified in any way Sir?' 'Oooh, no, of course not'. I for one would be pretty miffed if my premiums had to go up because some chavs had stolen a already lairy looking car that had been made to look like an ever lairier looking car costing twice as much.

As for the chavs breaking into his house, everyone sympathasies with him for that. Who's had a go at him? But this is a car forum. It's for discussion and opinions. And when you have a car that's been chavved up with the A Team van makeover, to make it more attention seeking, and then it gets stolen, you're going to get opinions. I'd hate to be on any car forum run by you - it would be dull and boring.

take a look at this thread http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18094487 the guy asked a simple question and people instantly jumped on the they are crap bandwagon.

That's called 'sense of humour'. Of which, you are clearly in short supply ;)

I think Fox summed up the forum collective nicely, it's the way of the Motors forum I'm afraid, take a look at this thread http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18094487 the guy asked a simple question and people instantly jumped on the they are crap bandwagon.

What's with the 10k/20k/jealous posts, I find the Megane ugly but then again I also find the Golf not to my taste but that's not jealousy, it's just cause I don't like some cars.

I'm glad that you've at least located the whereabouts of the car Muler hopefully now only a small step away from actually getting the car back.

If you pay enough attention to notice she's not been in the news for a while how you could have missed her dying? Which oddly enough, was all over the news.

Every now and again I end up in a place with minimal or no internet - as a result, my news knowledge has gaps in it :p

MY CAR HAS BEEN STOLEN, AND LOOKS LIKE THIS :

Looks pretty good in this picture.

You really come across as an opinionated, nasty piece of work - just in case you didn't realise...

Oh get over yourself, you sanctimonious weirdo. Amongst the threads that you've started, you've started debates about:

- the morals of the McCanns going too far
- how repugnant to find the gay sex in something called 'Dragon Age'
- mutliple threads about 'cheaters'
- failures of the justice system
- children from school being sent home
- how impressive you think David Cameron is, and how think you know the 'mood of the country'
- early release of foreign prisoners
- your glee about a spammer being punished

All your threads are based on you trying to moralise or apply one dimensional judgments to people or things. You're not really from the Far Right are you?

And for the record in reply to certain people who are telling me threads like this are pointless, because of another forum/group on facebook, i've actually found the cars whereabouts. So it does work, just when people are more interested in helping than stroking their e-penis.

Cheers for those who have been helping/supporting.

Mule / Car Owner.

Congrats on getting the car back. How was it found and what did the car look like, much damage?

Oh get over yourself, you sanctimonious muppet.

I'm not "feigning" piety or righteousness here, the guy came online to make people aware of the theft of his friends car - a pretty horrible thing to have happen and his friend was likely very upset - and you seemed to think an appropriate response was to **** his car off?

I think I was right.

Yes, it is an R26, no, its not an R26.R, and i've never claimed it to be. I had the choice between F1 Team or R26.R decals, and chose the R26.R ones as I prefer them, whats wrong with that?
Out of idle curiosity, why were you forced to choose between the F1 Team and R26R decals? Is there not an option to have neither?

This thread has REALLY annoyed me.

I am genuinely glad the OP's friend has recovered his car.

Oddly though, it's not the crass, unhelpful, cracks about cars being hit with ugly sticks or the Beemer shaggers that have raised my ire.

Nope, that's not it.

It's the fact that apparently no-one can tell the difference between jealousy and envy.

Oh well, back to Motherboards where the folks are helpful and educated.
