Ueh, I found it kinda blury as well. Would be interested to see it in 2D to see how much clearer it all is... (and it would have course be clearer!)

Just got back from seeing this at IMAX in Waterloo.
In terms of the 3D and CGI I was blown away. But as expected the storyline was a bit meh, the thing was me and my family (Xmas gift from me) came out of the film and didn't even bother talking about it. If it was that easy to forget it can't have been that great right? When i came out of LOTR 4/5 years ago I couldn't stop thinking / talking about it.
It also didn't help that I had 2 'Chav Pakistanis' 1 of which was firstly constantly shaking his leg so I turned around and said 'Stop shaking your leg'. They were also constantly talking to which I turned round and said 'shut the **** up' and according to my dad they told me to **** off but I didn't hear it, just as well as I'd have stood up and snapped his 3D glasses in half.
Yes, it's groundbreaking, yes it's entertaining and yes it will change cinema.

like i say, this is all stuff that will be addressed as the tech progresses so im not overly fussed about it. id recommend Avatar to any sci-fi fan and really hope they make a sequel that doesnt need to push groundbreaking tech and can start to focus on more of a story. i liked the charictors. two main roles were played well and really took you into the movie i thought, it just goes to show that a plot doesnt have to be a brand new one to work well.
My friend made the comment that it was fern gully in 3d, never seen fern gully but my friend was adimant though he still enjoyed it.

Everyone seemed to be staggering out after we watched, anyone else feel wierd after watching?Not majorly of course.
3 hours is a long stint in those cinema seats, even the premier ones, takes it toll on ya regardless of the movie i think.

Other than the fact it looks amazing! I mean it is rather incredible I didnt think much of the actual movie got a bit bored tbh.
About half way through I realised it still had a lot left to do and couldn't really be bothered with it any more :/
O and the music! For some reason at times it reminded me of Lion King lol

I think that it tryed to invoke emotion to hard, it was trying to be a barrage on the senses, visualy and otherwise. some times you can over do it, that why i made the statemant about a sequel not needing to push tech, the world and environmant have loads of potential and i think it deserves another crack at being a movie not a tech demonstration.
that being said i still think that it did what it did outstandingly and enjoyed it.

just got back from real3d version at abc bournemouth, stunning movie
i struggled with the 3d for 1st 20mins then you felt totally imersed in it.
the cgi is so good you pretty much forget it's cgi, only after im thinking, I can't believe those characters were not real!!
good story, lots of action, natural looking 3d without being daft about it... and shortest 3hrs I've spent.
loved it!!!
ps: there was a stunned silence as movie ended, just because everyone was so wrapped up in movie... sign of a good film

I agree. Pretty mediocre plot/script, but somehow it gets away with it. ie: More than the sum of its parts...

Loved the film - a very interesting story although it does have more than a few parallels with Fern Gulley as this mock trailer depicts pretty well!
I seen this yesterday at the IMAX Manchester. I have to say the use of subtle 3D to enchance the immersion of depth was incredible. Everything that was meant to be in the foreground was in 3D to enchance the depth of the main scene. We need more of this stuff its magic 
I would love to see all the star wars movies again with this style of 3D. Finally Cameron has gone beyond the 3D gimmicks of a spear thru the screen.

The script was so poor it made me want to shove the 3d glasses in my ears so that I no longer had to endure the agony of predictingt word for word the cliched nonsense that was to be spouted by the various smurfs on screen. How much did they spend on this movie and yet they still couldnt get a decent script?

I generally HATE fantasy films, hence why i can't stand any of the LOTR films, but this was something sooooo different to anything i've ever seen and at the time i felt it didn't resemble the matrix in anyway, i still don't now to be honest.
Me and my brother came out and talked about it for over half an hour, it has fantasy, action, comedy, romance. It simply has everything and i can't wait for a sequel.

I loved it, watched it with 3 mates none of them said it was rubbish just the story was lacking something, it has to be watched in 3D. Without the 3D its your average Summer Hollywood blockbuster but the 3D kept me going, waiting for the next frame, the next action, taking off the glasses and putting them back on, it was like another world.

Yup, watching the trailers/ads in 3D they all had this pop out and scary stuff, the dairy milk one was shown wtf was that?
Avatar had none of this, just pure 3D, its very subtle, personally its the best way to make a 3D movie, it keeps you interested, some of the scenes when fighting was ground breaking, you felt you was in the forest watching it.

Certainly wouldn't call it a complete ripoff, and definitely not of the Matrix anyway.
