PS3 slim... BD remote... duh... wah?

Over at a mate's trying to pair his BD remote to his PS3, and not having a huge amount of success. Have tried going in through the manage bluetooth devices and started to scan but it finds nothing.

This is what the destructions say to do, but it seems this isn't doing it - any ideas?

There's a specific option for pairing the BD remote.

Accessory Settings > Register BD Remote Control

there is an option in the same menu as pair bluetooth device, with a label pair bluetooth remote.

You use a different part of the menu, can't remember what but it's fairly easy to find. It'll prompt you to hold the select and start buttons on your blutooth controller (if you can't see this message you're doing the wrong thing).

Go to register BD remote in accessories above blue tooth devices

Cant you just use your TV remote to comtrol the PS3? Mine does - I only found out by accident

Love to know how that works when the ps3 uses bluetooth and no form of ir? :confused:

Its a Panasonic TV though, I dont recall asking it to, I just leant on the remote and it moved stuff on screen!

Panasonic use the same tech, i too found this out by accident.

Yeah my G10 controls the XMB, but no further than that. The telly will turn on my Samsung HT as well as the PS3 and control both fairly well. Isn't it part of the HDMI spec?
