Just finished the first ep of Texhnolyze and daaaaaamn is it good.

At first it makes no sense what so ever, it jumps randomly between scenes but then it starts to make a strange kind of sense. Great music and art style as well.

Me like.

Ok, Spice and Wolf is really fun, and rather different to the normal Anime i've been watching :)
I mean, how many go into things like devalution of the currency and trading, especially whilst having a cute girl turning into a huge wolf :p
I'm going to try and watch the second disk tonight :)

I think I may end up placing a pre-order for the second series as soon as it comes up.

Just wait till they whip out the apples...

I think Holo really likes them apples :)

I really loved it as a series, just that little bit different but very good fun :)

Good news on K-on from what I hear it's a good series (I've yet to see much more than some screen shots).

I'm trying to decide what I should watch tonight, Coyote Ragtime, disk 5 of Gurren Laggan or Dual MAtrix.

Little update for my codec installs (maybe a little off topic) :)

With windows 7 pro x64 I now have all but rmvb (no sound and not exactly a huge loss :)) working in both x64 and x32 wmp and x64 media center. No reg hacks or anything required and it's all appears to be using the built in media foundation codecs where possible :)

In case others are interested installed k-lite x64 pack, ensuring that ffdshow (audio and video) and matroska splitters are to be installed. Everything is unticked in ffdshow except for rmvb, theora and vorbis codecs (not built in :().

Then installed CCCP 32bit codecs - removed ticks on everything but theora and vorbis at install and then checked in ffdshow that only rmvb, theora and vorbis were ticked.

Subs are dealt with via directvobsub (or more precisely vsfilter) plus the latest matroska splitter (in cccp) for dealing with auto selection of multiple audio/subs tracks.

So thinking about it after the above - all I actually need when I install the new gpu I'm after and reinstall the os is directvobsub (vsfilter), ffdshow and matroska plus the above configs and I'll have everything working nice and clean :)

Why don't you just install VLC and be done with it? Plays absolutley everything i throw at it

I quite liked Coyote Ragtime ... not a deep series but fun nether the less

Personally tended to find VLC pretty poor when it came to handling soft subs in mkv. I still use it occasionally for a few things but most of the time I prefer a player with a better interface and subtitle handling.

I see that on top of a Blu-ray release of Kanon there is also going to be an English subtitled blu-ray release of Clannad too ... the downside, the 60k+ Yen price tag.

i don't know why they dont do a tomoyo after anime tbh, they did the tomoyo and kyou alternate universe episodes which were well recieved from what ive seen. I would have thought tomoyo after would be a good choice to animate.

On another note about some of this seasons anime thats finished.

Sora no Otoshimono - definitely a fun little series and i would have liked to have been longer tbh. I hope theres a second season :).

Darker Than Black - Weird ending episode and still leaves allot to be explained. I quite liked Suou and July as characters by the end of this series so its a shame to see this little season end. I look forward to more Darker Than Black, great standard as expected from Bones :).

I've seen the first few episodes of Sora no Otoshimono which seemed quite fun ;) .... now that it's completed it's in my thing's to watch pile.

Not seen anything Darker than Black related ....

I have, and it doesn't pay everything cleanly in my opinion plus I also want windows media center working while using the gpu acceleration etc

Anyone found any decent anime bargains in the sales? Waiting to see if United Publications have any decent bargains in the clearout sale they usually have this time of year, when their office reopens that is.

Not yet (other than TRSI's new year sale which runs till next Monday).

Had another item ship early from them too (Bamboo Blade Pt 2) and am currently awaiting FMP:TSR on Blu-ray (first copy appears to have gone missing in the post).

It's my birthday in a few days so I can't go a buying stuff yet :) .... do need to sort out a few series for the usual auction site in a couple of weeks too though ...

I had my latest box of Rightstuf goodies arrive this morning, Sakura Wars, Dokuro, Magic Knight Rayearth and the Spice and Wolf book (which they'd already put the slip cover on, and carefully wrapped in paper :)).

I'm going to try and make a start on Coyote Ragtime tonight as that's been waiting longest, but i'm sorely tempted by Rayearth as it's a Clamp series :p

Really? I've never had a problem with them in vlc, plays flawlessly for me
