Ive just seen District 9 on DVD.

hahaha

Serious question guys? Is this worth picking up on DVD for £10 now? Or would I be better of getting it on Blueray, even though I don't have a blueray player (yet)

Didn't have the chance to see it at the cinema :(

I'm picking up cheap BRs even though the only player I have is on my laptop. :D Even then the improvement from DVD is quite large. I've also shared the laptop drive on the LAN and can play discs from my main PC with MPC. :)

Just picked up Band of Brothers BR set for £14.77. :)

Any blue Ray player recommendations on a budget? Would I need a HDMI cable too? I have a Samsung LE26R74BDX - 26'' HD
Theres a cracking deal on a sony bdps 360 blu ray player at the minute for £79.99 at richer sounds.

Hope its ok to post the link as i dont think they sell computer components so they wouldnt be classed as a competitor. I got one of theese units last month when it was priced at £130.00 with three movies bundled. Quite a nice player at a great price.

I watched it with my mum and dad. We all agreed it was one of the worst movies ever.

It seriously bored me.

Saw this at the time in the cinema in Manchester. Quite enjoyed it. Loved the fx of the aliens and how they looked so real and alive. Found it a hard film to watch because I'm deaf, no subtitles in the cinema and South African accents a little hard to decipher. Wouldn't say I massively enjoyed the film but it was much easier to enjoy than Cloverfield, which I hated, but that's another thread.

Will get this, probably on Bluray, at some time. Maybe when the price is sub £10. :) This is a film to have in the collection I think.

I got mine in HMV where they had the normal bluray and the steelbook at the same price.

Only noticed the steelbook while queuing though so picked it up assuming it would have bonus content or something. Same content, but looks out of place in my BR collection. :( :p

While I'm on that, why do HMV store prices vary so wildly from their online prices? Example... Watchmen Bluray is £10 online, but £20 instore.

Absolute belter of a movie; incredibly impressive for such a small budget. CGI effects were jaw-droppingly good.

I think D9 is an excellent film and bought it on Blu Ray yesterday.

My wife thought it was silly - evicting aliens? WTF?!
