Ps3 is faster than any pc...

I'm playing Uncharted two now, I'm on a 26" 720P HDTV.
Oh my god..
I've been spolit by PC graphics. If I'm sat right back, the game doesn't look that bad, but when I go close to check out the detail, it's horrendous.

I saw someone playing Oblivion yesterday on a 360, I have seen worse but considering how amazing it is on the PC it was a different game.

The usual excuses for not using a pc are that it is too complicated or expensive, but computers aren't much more than a console these days and with things like Steam it is very very easy to set up.

And who doesn't need a PC these days? so you are really buying a graphics card.

I do have a PS3 and a 360 and they are ok, but only because they are in the lounge on the big TV, but you can do that with a PC but you can't have 2 player coop or multilayer on a single machine on a PC, which I think should be added.

I think because of the wii, motion sensing and 3d is going to be the next big thing. If they can make that better than a mouse then I would be much more happy to play on a console. Give it 1 or 2 more generations.

My cousin reckon his ps3 is better then my pc, why? because it has blu-ray.

I can't stand playing any games without AA and AF.

I've a 50" plasma screen next to my pc but never use it for gaming, quite happy playing with my 24" monitor.

I'm going to save up to get 2 more 24" monitors for eyefinity, he will then be jealous.

this is the best post by miles and i totaly agree

Thanks :D, It's nice to know some people can see the light.

^^

That post was awesome. Just made me realise how much I love pc gaming. And how much I cringe when having a conversation with any of my mates who own a 360 or ps3. They go on and on about their awesome graphics on their 'HIGH DEF' screens. And its just like, you don't have a clue what your talking about. Or how much your missing out on.

Oh jesus, I know.. my mates are just oblivious to it too. It really pains me to have to go over and interrupt them in an "xbox" session and be "dazzled" by the amazing power of the xbox. On a side note though, one of them caught me playing DOD:S, and commented how it looked nice (ridiculous as its pretty bog standard in the graphical department). I thought they were taking the **** :D. The gameplay however was lost on them, apparently they couldnt see anyone, and the aiming was too hard.

you see.. i just saved this post in my email.. once a console kiddy goes around telling me how powerful and cool his gaming "thingy" is ill just quote him.. so i dont waste my breath on this.. great post.. 100% agree with everything..

Thanks :D, again nice to know theres still a few of us left, sticking up for the REAL gaming platform :D.

Console fanboys never learn, but at least we can see through the "HD" into the ugly pixelated netherworld!.

This whole Console v PC saga will start again a couple of years when they release the PS4. With hardware that will be out of date and the exact same flaws as Consoles have had for years. The problem is. A console can't exactly be improved much more. You add a keyboard and a mouse to a console and what do you get?.....a PC... except... it's not!

A console will never trump a PC and that's what these console-fanboys need to get to gripse with.

mass doesn't make any difference.

Correct, the acceleration due to mavity is about 9.81 meters per second per second (aka meters per second squared). The mass of a falling object makes no difference.

The surface area a falling object presents to the air through which it falls determines what is known as the terminal velocity, the point at which the acceleration due to mavity is balanced by the air resistance. The only way to successfully address the argument in the OP is to hold the drop test in a vacuum.

What we need is a tall spiral staircase enclosed in large glass cylinder. The cylinder totally sealed with the exception of an air tight door. We then ask the guy in the video, or any other dissenters to enter the cylinder and climb the tall spiral staircase all the way to the top. At this point we close the airtight door and evacuate all the air from the chamber. Wait 2 minuets and the problem is solved :D

Mass surely does make a difference when not in a vacuum. There will clearly be a resultant force on the object due to air resistance and this will take into account mg. Hence a water filled balloon will fall faster than an empty one of identical shape.

I love this thread :P

Started at PS3 is faster than a PC, moved to console vs. PC, then partially onto analogue stick vs. mouse, now on to science.

Tomorrow: politics!
