Intel 80Gb G2 or Kingston 40Gb x 2 SSD's

Intel all the way !!

Intel has 250mb Read vs Kingstons 170mb (thats if I have looked at the same Kingtons as you)

1. Those reads are theoretical maximums
2. The Kingstons are Intel drives
2. You do realise he'll be running the two Kingstons in RAID 0 and therefore should demolish the single drive in read performance?

Anyway - I'd be going for 2 x Kingstons in RAID 0

I'm running two of those Kingston 40GB SSD's in RAID-0, and their awesome!!!

A million times better than the ancient pair of 36GB Raptors they replaced..

Like WJA96 stated, these Kingston SSD's use the Gen2 Intel controller as well.

I do appreciate this is 4 x 40Gb Kingstons in RAID 0 but the sequential read speed is almost exactly linear in it's increase with RAID;

If 2 x 40Gb Kingstons do 300Mb/s then they'll genuinely destroy the equivalent Intel 80Gb HDD, plus at roughly £150 for the pair, they are much cheaper as well.

wow them scores are very impressive.

is that using onboard raid or a dedicated card.

Here is my pair of Kingston SSD's connected to ICH10R:

For some odd reason I can't change the language back to English on AS SSD Benchmark... :confused:
