Company of heroes

Quality - not really played the single player much, but MP is class.

Also a lot of mods in the works/released that are of good quality... Eastern Front or something looks the best of them, with the Russians becoming involved.

Loved those. Been a while since I played it though. I remember it being quite graphically intense lol.

Unit cap was gay however.

Install the last game 1st and it does cut the number of patches you have to install.

Definiteiy follow this advice - it will save you a LOT of hassle. Once TOV is installed you can add the serials from the other 2 titles into your Relic account which unlocks the rest of the content.

if you've never played COH before you're in for a treat.

+1. just ran into the dreaded 'cannot find media' on my coh anthology !

l
lol I read this just as I started installing it.
wtf!! It asks me for a cd-key for CoH and I look on back of the manual and it says "cd key below" then there is a blank box!!:confused:

the two other manuals for the expansion packs have codes on , but the installer setup is asking me for the original company of heroes cd key there isn't one on the back of the manual .

Best RTS ever. Lost about 3 years to this game. Online is tough for the novice but you can get help from gamereplays.org

probably best RTS for last few years, I still play it every now and then. there is a really good mod -> Joint Operations, but it is very hard some missions are just insane

Hey guys, been meaning to get this for a little while now. What's the definitive version to get?

Ps. The Steam version isn't viable for me. Slow net connection :(

I buy this game and all the expansion packs because it is an awesome WWII game. I am useless at it and dont play it much but tbh I just give the money so it goes to software development company that actually give a **** about PC. Listening Infinity Ward?

I hardly ever play games these days but was at a loose end the other week and download the demo - by the time I'd finished the tutorial I'd already decided to buy it. It's great!

I've finished the vanilla CoH single player missions and now working my way through the German missions on the expansion pack. To be honest, so far I prefer the original CoH - they seemed to get the pacing of the missions spot on whereas Opposing Fronts seems to be a be more frantic from what I've played so far.

And yes, I'd echo what others have said about the patching. It took me about 4 hours from finishing the install and getting it patched up to date. The problem is it needs babysitting (apply patch/restart game/download new patch) and the downloads are quite slow - only after about 5 patches did a p2p program appear that improved the download speed somewhat and allowed you to apply the rest of the patches in bulk.

Can't comment on online play - basically I've not got enough time nor patience to become good enough to enjoy it. :D

Still, problems aside, highly recommended!

Just reinstalled this for some good ol COH hapiness and the patching process is completely driving me nuts so started to look for another way to get patches and found this http://www.patches-scrolls.de/ enter company of heroes as search and the patches come up :) hope that helps some fo ya.

Love it, it's not a 'rock, paper, scissors' RTS that I've become used to over the past few years, flanking, cover and tactics all play a part in every fight on the map. Ability to build cover & tank traps makes every point worth getting if you can get in there and reinforce it.

Sometimes it does feel a little like a tank race, but when you take down a King Tiger with a couple of Ranger squads due to micro-ing the bejesus out of them it's epic!

I used to always love getting loads of ranger squads as it made light work of tanks generally. When you have so many its hard for anything to take them down :)

Right guys. Installed this and loving it however. I am having preformance problems , running it at 1920x1080 with most settings on high/ultra it is laggy , choppy. Should I be able to run this on these settings fine?.
Cheers :)
