I just bought a pair of Gale Silver Monitors to run off the zone 2 of my Onkyo 606 amp, these replaced the Aego M's I was using before and they sound far better without the added need of a seperate sub. Cheaper too at £70.
As you have an amp, get a decent pair of small bookshelf speakers. You'll get far more quality for your money than buying pc speakers, even the teufel ones.
Well in general yes, but the teufel includes a USB soundcard, given the output quality from most laptops that'll make a big difference all on it's own...

Only have the inbuilt lappy ones and some on my 24" Iiyama monitor. I want some that can run off the amp, as the laptop will be connect to that aswell all going to amp and to the monitor.
Get a decent pair of hifi bookshelf speakers. The Gales I use at £70 are pretty good. So are Tannoy F1s at £99. Any bookshelf speaker at the same price as the aego with sound far better than the aego.
