Aego M speakers

Hi all,
can the AE aego m speakers be run off an amp at all?
Looking for some similar size speakers 2.1 to tun off my amp.

Thanks

I just bought a pair of Gale Silver Monitors to run off the zone 2 of my Onkyo 606 amp, these replaced the Aego M's I was using before and they sound far better without the added need of a seperate sub. Cheaper too at £70.

I think you can power the HF units from an external amp, make sure you use a HPF of at least 100Hz however, just to be on the safe side.

Well in general yes, but the teufel includes a USB soundcard, given the output quality from most laptops that'll make a big difference all on it's own...

I didn't realise he was using a laptop or which soundcard he was using. The teufels are damned expensive though.

that's because I've got the wrong thread in fact. Ooops...

If he has a decent sound card and amp, definitely the bookshelf speakers. If not then probably still the best bet and save up for a DAC later.

Only have the inbuilt lappy ones and some on my 24" Iiyama monitor. I want some that can run off the amp, as the laptop will be connect to that aswell all going to amp and to the monitor.

Get a decent pair of hifi bookshelf speakers. The Gales I use at £70 are pretty good. So are Tannoy F1s at £99. Any bookshelf speaker at the same price as the aego with sound far better than the aego.
