DJ HERO - Worth it?

I don't understand how you can enjoy this if you actually have decks. I play guitar, thus the thought of using a plastic guitar to play songs I already know bores me.

I haven't got a clue how to beatmatch, and don't have to money to splash out on decks so this game really appeals to me.

@the virtual dj guy, please I'm sure you mixes are great .. but frikkin dj shadow? Come on.

Can you not comprehend that it is a game and not the same thing? I play football yet I still enjoy Fifa.

Not the same mate! Football requires a lot of effort to put together a proper match, and even then the quality of football is ropey compared to proffesional matches.

Yet I can play guitar in my room and make it sound as good as the real thing... well close.

Because neither are anything like the real thing? Guitar hero is nothing like playing a real guitar really.. and is a game to pass time and have a laugh with. Just like DJ hero is nothing like using real decks in the slightest.

If you ever played any of Konami's Bemani line of arcade music games i.e. Dance Dance Revolution, Guitar Freaks, Drummania, Keyboardmania, Beatmania/IIDX, Pop'n Music etc, and which for some of you who didn't know, existed long before the "Hero" franchise began, these games play in the same princple. They are just fun games based on the actual instrument and not how you would play them in real life, well most of the time.

I'm no expert when it comes to "DJing stuff", but when you compare Beatmania/IIDX to DJ Hero, I would say that at least DJ Hero is probably the closest to the real thing. Course for myself, I actually prefer playing Beatmania but only because of it's gameplay mechanics.

I have a guitar and Guitar Hero too. Do I play Guitar Hero as a substitute for playing guitar? No, I play it because a) I like playing games and b) I like music so a game that combines both is excellent in my book.

I think DJ Hero is a great example of progression in the genre because it allows you to 'play' some fantastic mixes that even with all the right equipment would be near impossible to recreate. The attention to detail and artists involved contribute to an excellent package in which, unlike Guitar Hero/Rock Band, you aren't covering songs but hearing entirely new ones (at least the first time you play).

DJ Hero is a great game, but I'm still waiting to find it for about £50. the controller feels like it is about to snap.

I love rhythm games, have all main GH games except 5, and RB 1+2 with 100s of downloaded songs, have an expensive drum controllers (ions) and spend atleast 10 hours a week playing on it. Have been playing stepmania for years aswell.

I find medium a little too easy to be honest. Never really get lower than 95% but anything higher than that and I drop down to about 80% :(

Just picked this up 2nd hand in-store for £48 on PS3! The guy in the shop said it's not worth full whack which he paid but for £48 you can't argue :)

I'm still loving this game, all my mates are addicted. I reckon i'm gonna snap the crossfader at some point though with some of the expert tracks.

Wow just won a brand new copy of this on the bay for.....£21 including P&P....just waiting for the email to say its off :p

After a few goes on it, definitely worth £40-50 but certainly wouldn't pay any more. Just depends on longevity really which I personally can't see it lasting but I don't mind whoring trophies for a while then selling it on!

wth. Poor guy. They usually go for around £50-55. How did you manage that, misspelt title or somthing?

Yeah I searched for "DJHERO" and it was the only one that came up. I doubt its brand new. His feedback is a touch ropey 98% and he seems to sell money off vouchers for littlewoods for 99p

got an email this morning saying its going to get dispatched monday. I got a feeling somethings going to be massively wrong with it but I guess at £20 its worth the punt.
