Effigy of Obama hanged in America

You have put 2 and 2 together and come up with 15. There is no apparent racial motive here. You prejudiced liberal drone.

a black guy lynched in a southern state. I'd say more than likely there's a racial element in play here.

As already said, whats wrong with burning effigies, if it was just one burned on a city street in the middle of the day then yeah, blaming a racial element might be a bit of a jump in imagination but this isn't exactly as cut and dry as that is it.

I almost hope he gets killed now just to prove my point joke

I imagine the effigies of Thatcher burned were by people such as miners etc. people who Thatcher directly influenced, I cant imagine a bunch of rednecks living in a town of 700 people even knows anythin about Obama other than he is black.

Have you even been there?

You seem to be generalising a tad; not only are they all 'rednecks' they are also uneducated?

You might want to consider your position.

You're just dismissing this as a non-issue because other political figures have been hanged in effigy or burned or whatever before, therefore this insignificant.

All I'm saying is this may be true, but whether you like it or not, you and all these other dismiss anything that doesn't involve the mention of nuke/Abit/Clarkson news stories, Obama will go down in history as one of the most important people in history, same as Martin Luther King, Malcolm X and Rosa Parks. An in the acknowledgement of this fact, it may be slightly more than some aggrieved voters venting their dissatisfaction in a traditional way, given where and the way this was placed.

If this forum was around here when Rosa Parks refused to stand on that bus, all you woulda gone "so what, not a big deal, the guy was tired wanted to sit down, she wouldn't let him, nothin to do with race" just because something is a small act, doesn't mean it can't become significant, the truth of that matter was she was just tired, she wasn't intending on making such a massive statement, it just became one.

You're saying to me oh your generalising the population of a small town, which I admit to, but I'm guessing you hardly advocate the mentality or education systems in such small towns when you're arguing their stance on Iraq.

I believe the answer to that question lies somewhere between "a reasonable number" and "not enough."
There would have been more, but the factories producing the effigies were all on strike during key production periods, leading to a shortage across the nation.

You mean they can read in the south? :p

Much much better then them north of Virginia and we got BIGGER guns :)

Why do they keep calling Obama black when he is not?

Because he is.

Please don't start that mixed race debate again.

I thought he had one white parent and one black parent, why does that classify him more as black then white when its 50/50. Black is just as a term for non-white unfortunately, not that it matters really, I just don't see how people justify calling him black or white when he isn't fully either, yet people will always refer to him as black rather than white hmmm.
