Oddly I was the opposite - hated the demo but bought the game as there was nothing else about and landed up really having a blast. Though I can understand some finding it boring quickly.

My most disappointing of 2009?

It has to be OFP: DR. The cop-op had it's moments, but overall it was just rubbish.

MW2 follows behind rather closely. Not that it's terrible, but I just can't seem to get along with it.

These two games were going to be my MP fix for some time, but due to how they have turned out for me I have let my Gold sub laps, and if I need the occasional MP fix, I will just fire up Uncharted 2 or something else on the PS3.

Actually, will likely start migrating to the PS3 more for MP in future as I just can't be bothered to pay for something I don't use much (Live).

I'd be surprised if Uncharted 2 didn't get game of the year off just about everyone lol

Tekken 6 on Xbox360.

Didn't have story mode for each character (even though it does exist on the PS3 and PSP version), it just has a campaign mode which was a bit crap. The xbox360 analog stick/D-pad just isn't up to the job either.

Surely its more MS making the dpad so useless ALL fighting games pretty much cant use the default controller. Have a look at other fighting games and you will see the same remarks ;). Definitely think youve got the wrong end of the stick (how ironic :p)...

That's not exactly anybody's fault. You can play any fighting game on the standard X360 controller. Just because a stick is better doesn't mean it's not possible.
 
Resident Evil 5

Such a let down and such a step away/backwards from previous res evils. When i first booted it up i thought i was playing MGS not RES 5. It's just not scary at all anymore and seems to be more based on an action game. I am a huge Resi fan and this was one of the biggest gaming let downs ever imo.
 
ive been avoiding this thread as i tend to play older games unless i really want it in which case ill get it on release (unless its on offer on release i.e. MW2 £26 and Fifa10 £24)

but one i picked up was WWE Legends of Wrestlemania and it was utter crap
also NFS:Shift was a big dissapointment as i was hoping for a game to tide me over till GT5 came along (unfortunatly i dont have an xbox for forza 3)

as for game of the year, i just picked up batman AA and got uncharted 2 for xmas and they are both excellent, id also push for Dragon Age origins but as i played it only on ps3 and not pc from what ive read im missing out on the best verison
