New Toy - That's a big piece of glass !

My lord! I stupidly bid on one on auction, and was literally 20 seconds away from winning it, knowing full well I would be royally screwed for Christmas financially.

Luckily, I got outbid. My max was £430, and in the last 20 seconds it jumped to £505.

My trigger finger is poised on hitting the purchase button on this lens. Raymond, give me a sample shot to make my mind up please :D

You will have to wait until Saturday/Sunday sorry, at work in the week and when i get home it's dark. :(

I just opened mine :D

WOW! That is some serious glass at the front. It feels quite light as well, then again I have been using the 24-70L exclusively for the last few months!

A brilliant addition to my arsenal, it's VERY nice having a bit of extra reach. I would post some sample shots but I've not taken many, and they're all at ISO 3200 at the moment because it's so dark!!

congrats on the new lens scary, did you get it from onestop? If so did you have to pay any taxes?
im considering getting a lens from them.

Yes I got it from One Stop, it seemed to be the best price in the UK.

I'm really impressed with them actually, both my Kenko tubes and this lens arrived really quickly from Hong Kong, both of which I was able to track via Fedex every step of the way (it's kind of weird knowing my lens has been via Paris :p).

It was shipped on 30th December and arrived today, so I'm fairly happy :)
I'll get some shots up soon!

My dad got a Sigma 150-500mm lens from them at Christmas and didn't get stung with taxes. But even if you do they give you a form to fill out and they pay you back.

Delivery only took 4 days.

Oh my, just been playing with it taking some test shots of my cats. The bokeh is bloody lovely!!! I love the focal length, not too short, not too long, just perfect. Can't wait to do some portrait shoots with it, shooting at ISO 100-200 using strobes :D

Serious jelous'ness'ness over here :(

Don't be too jealous, it went on my credit card!! OOOOPS!!

You might want to get an ND filter so that you can shoot wide open with your strobes. At f/2 and 1/250 you're likely to find yourself over exposing even at ISO100 in many situations and if you're adding strobes on top you might have issues. I'm not saying you'll need one but it would be a shame if you have to stop down.

Onestops site is down which is annoying :(

It's working fine here.
