The do I or don't I, go to work thread

He's certainly got the right attitude to succeed and would be chosen over a slacker for promotion any day of the week.

Still, staying at home playing games is far more important.

Problem is that if you have a boss like mine you get no gratitude for battling in even if it takes you 3 hours, just a bollocking for being late and not setting off at 5am.

Sorry, you know all I'll back away now :)

Which car did you use today?

I could always take the time off and not get paid....... then starve to death instead ;)

Depends how you are paid. If you are salaried and it doesn't specifically state in your contract then they have to pay you if you can't make it in due to bad weather.

Unbeleivable I know but google it, it's true.

Which car did you drive in with today Spie?
I'm not in the UK right now, because I don't live there anymore.

Today I drove my Q7 20km through several feet of snow at -10C ... to go shopping. This crucial journey was accomplished with ease because I have already grown a set and if I do say so myself, they are not small.

BMW's - not exactly the ultimate driving machines in this weather!

My ultimate driving machine made it into work nicely this morning and that was a 50 mile drive. :)

Think you should get the 599 out for a spin. ;)

Buy me a Q7 and I'll brave any weather. ;)

I was hampered today - the ironing board on the rear of my car had 2-3 inches of snow on it on route to work.

Well here in warrington its crazy loads of snow . Its not stopped since about 10 pm last night . unfortunately its my day off work today , but i cant get over the number of clowns driving and skidding about !

20 mins of an 8 mile journey took 1.5 hours, but I'm in work and posting on the forums as usual :p

Snow is still coming down thick and the area is very well unstreated due to being rural. Despite being late I will be going home 30 mins early to avoid the same traffic again. But I will only do so if there's nothing urgent to be completed. No point messing about at home, spent 2 weeks doing that and I can't afford to shell out on heating the place all day if I'm not sat at my desk working!

Oh yeah...

Helps a bit. Quite easy to take the high ground when you have a monster 4x4 to battle the elements with, don't you think?

For your information I was up at 5:50am. I dragged my "slacker" self to my car and proceeded to relieve it of the snow which had so kindly landed on it. After doing this I made many attempts at getting away...sadly I had no traction (see previous post). With no buses running I had no other means to make the perilous journey to the place of my employment. Thus your honour I did not make the journey to work. I could go by plane, but then the airport was also closed for business.

Next time I'll think ahead and construct a Ski-Doo from old garden tools and a lawnmower motor.

Unless roads are closed / your car can't be moved / various other reasons then yes you should go to work.

I get to my work place with public transport, so am at the mercy of them a little more. Then again, I've not missed a day yet.

pussys..... >_> oh well even the manger (store) at the place were I work is a pussy so it don't make difference. if I can't use the car I have no choice but this ( must remember to take a pic of it ! :P)
