The do I or don't I, go to work thread

To be fair, from what I saw over Christmas I don't think they cope much better in Northern France with this sort of weather. Just before Christmas, the town of Boulogne-sur-Mer was gridlocked thanks to similar snowfalls to what we had this week, and they hadn't even gritted the motorway between Calais and the peage at Boulogne.

My comment about the Brits was tongue in cheek. :) In the alpine region of Europe they seem to cope, but they have the infrastructure for it I guess. :)

Two trains were canceled at the station today and no one knew if the third could run, phoned work to tell them I would be in when I was in and they told me not to bother coming in.

Sat at home under my duvet trying not to put the heating on.

What I was trying to allude to was that a lot of people honestly don't try and use the snow as an excuse - of course you cna't generalise, but hey, we all do it! ;)

I've done this! Looked out the window this morning, saw the snow had turned into a thick layer of ice on the road and thought sod it. Don't really want to spend the next 3 hours driving slowly to work to get there late, and then just spend the day doing the work I brought home with me yesterday in an office location.

On the bad side I have my work with me so I'm not actually having a day off, just a day of working in a dressing gown... :D

Whoo, I made it to work today! The car's still stuck and the trains are still not running so I had to walk there and back. 11 miles. And for all that effort, I got next to no work done when I got there. Whoooo! :p
