Driving in snow

RWD - check
Lots of deep frozen snow on the quiet roads - check
Still made it the 8 miles to work - check

Had none overnight since yesterday but it seems the area has given up and gone back to bed. Easy enough drive, even driving where nobody else has. I could work from home too, but I probably wouldn't get much done in reality.

Managed to finally turn off my driving aids and have some fun this morning on my persoal skid pan! God knows why Elliot and I failed to get it fully off at Oulton but today I managed it. Press it quickly and it half goes off, hold it down for a few seconds and bingo, solid light and all off.

These things are important when you have access to a big snow covered parking area all to yourself! :D

Isn't that how it is on all German cars? :p

I know a few local stores are closed which have big customer parking......I want to go play but I don't at the same time - argh!

Managed to get the 35 miles to work absolutely fine.

My road was snowy, but all fresh, so easy to drive on.

Main roads out of Swindon were a bit slushy, and the M4 was clear, and very few cars.

At work - I'm the only normal car in the carpark, and there's the boss's Pajero too.

No way im getting to work this morning, the van wont evan move ..... Surrey we have silly amounts of snow ..

GRRR bloody hate the stuff, hurry up and melt please

Most and as I was told for mine but it didn't work when I tried it at Oulton, just wouldn't go off fully. All very odd as I could only get a flashing tc light instead of a fully on light. Meh

Well I made it into work in my automatic M3.

10 mile journey across the home counties (Watford to Gerrards Cross). Although not sure if I'm going to make it back. :p

I managed to haul myself into work in my tiiiiiny 1.0 B reg 205. Main roads were pretty bad, but the connecting roads were lethal. Got into the works car park and spent ten minutes sliding this way and that, since I was so early.

Small and light 205 would have been quite good in the snow I would have thought?

Was watching dad about to set off in the C220, thinking it would struggle and drift a bit. Unfortunately it pulled away easily and efficiently in a German manner.

wimp

there was 5 inches yesterday in west yorks, and another inch last night on top of that.

Still made it into work on time though, despite Wakefield council running dangerously low on grit. The A61 is the main bus route between leeds and wakefield, its been ploughed but completely ungritted :(

It will take me just as long to walk there as it will to drive there, walking is safer and means i dont crash my highly valuable car! :p

What's the difference between gritting lorries and Madeline McCann?

Madeline McCann has been sighted a few times.

My car is stuck in the car park. I'll be going nowhere for a couple of days!
