I've had a bit of trouble with my case and have narrowed it down to a faulty power switch. I wanted to remove the top of the case to get access to it so that I can hopefully repair/replace it, but I don't seem to be able to get it off. I have unclipped the clips at the back and middle of the case, but there appear to be clips at the front too, although I can't seem to get to them. Does anyone have any tips on how to get it unclipped, or alternatively if I can get to the power switch without removing the top?

Thanks

I had a real problem with mine which led to its early demise.

I did get some spare fans from the wreckage though :)

This is incredibly difficult. The clips are, like you say, hidden deep inside the case itself. You need to just try nd use various tools to try and unclip them. I just couldnt manage it myself. They are not meant to be removed! There are a couple of screws if i remeber correctly.

Thanks for filling me with confidence;)

I think I may just leave it as using the reset to power on and no reset switch if I can't get it off easily. It seems like a very bad design not being able to get it off easily. Oh well not the end of the world I suppose.

Thanks for the responses guys. I will have another go at it tomorrow and if I can't get it off I'll just leave it as it isn't too big a deal, just a little annoying that's all.

there are 2 small screws as well as the 4 clips. The screws are in the roof of the case around about the 200mm fan i think - middle of the case. Once you have them out the top pops of easy.

look from inside your case up to the roof and you should see them

I've just had a look and found these screws, although after having removed them I still can't get the top off; the front clips are being a pain and not releasing and I haven't got anything long enough to reach in and unclip them. How did you get them unclipped?

If you really can't get at them and are left with no alternative you could always wire in a replacement switch by taking a pair of wires from the mobo to a place of your choice on the case. you'll obviously have to drill a hole and re wire but better option that having to write off the whole case for the sake of a button.

This isn't difficult. I had the same issue as you and got extremely frustrated. After much tearing of hair, gnashing of teeth, wailing and trying to insert a screwdriver to force the thing open I stumbled on the solution by accident 9without breaking anything either). The key is that the clips don't "clip" sideways as the rear amd middle ones do, they are oriented front-to-back. So, once you have the rear and middle clips unclipped simply push the top unit towards the front of the case! Et voila.... At least it worked for me
