Latest GT5 info

When you look at the pretty arcade looking AGS 09 video, then look at the AMG SLS video, then look at the Time Trial Demo, there is absolutely no consistency at all...

Am I the only one wondering what the hell we will actually get this Summer?

There is a chasm in terms of graphics between the AGS09/TT Demo and that SLS video.. Almost as large as the chasm in physics between the AGS09 video and the TT Demo..

Obviously it hasnt been said enough times, The TT demo is not a demo of GT5, but of the GT5 Physics engine, its a small 220Mb Download GT5 is most likely to be on a 50GB BD. The TT job is to find the best GT driver not to show how pretty GT5 looks, i thought it was a fairly easy to grasp concept.

^^ What Top Gear airfield? It's not in that vid

Yes it is approx 35 secs, small snippet with red and silver Merc and sunset type sky and the blue runway lights.
Its been shown before recently in the AGS video but what seemed to be a plane taking off.

I definately think this TG track/airfield will be used to also have like in FM3 drag style races, something of course Top Gear do quite often.

Lol, that's such a small piece I don''t know how you can be sure. I must have been blinking (literally) when I watched it.

I don't think you could grasp my simple concept that with 3 totally different sources of information (Show demo's including AGS09, the TT demo and the SLS Trailer) we have large chasms in phsyics/graphics etc..

Of course the TT Demo is more about the physics, that's not in question, but how do we get a decent feel for what the final product will be when you have such diversity of source material..

I know you fanboys like to excuse anything negative with such vague conjecture that implies anything negative is not representative of the final game, and everything good shown is representative, but for the rest of us who aren't so blind, it would be nice to see some actual 'this is what you'll be getting' type material.. they are less then 2 months out now according to the March date for Japan, so they must have not much over a month to go before going 'gold'..

I desperately want the game to be good enough to warrant a PS3 purchase, but only if I tie the best bits of everything I can see together and ignore the bad does it look like the awesome game it should be, and that's a leap of faith that any rational person isn't going to make..

Just bring on some concrete actual gameplay vids etc!

1st showing and discussed a lot with GT5 fans to most likely be the TG track.

Same cars and track but nw with what seems a lear-jet taking off down the runway.

Now it could be that this will only be intro or video footage but I just have a suspicion TG content might include more than just the TG Track so many some TG style challenges as well.

This game was one of the reasons I bought a PS3 as well, although I am glad that quite a few other games have made it worth buying.

I am not so sure about GT5 now after playing Prolouge and the TT, I dont like the bumper cars of GT5:P and the the TT still feels off and I really, really hate the way the car nose dips violently when breaking... even the F1 car does it!!!

Its a joke, on a standard car yes it will do that, but not something with racing suspension to that degree.

Cool, this is one aspect of GT5 that really appeals, TG tomfoolery!

It is very much possible to believe that GT5 will look better than Prologue.
Actually proof of that is already evident from the many Tokyo videos and hi res photos because it has much improved and various types of trees, buildings with actual interiors modelled and also a high level of reflections from their glass.

That track clearly looks better than what GT5P had and we dont even know if that is final build.

At this stage I would have no problems sticking my neck out and say GT5 will likely be the best looking console racing game and by quite a margin. Damage will also far surpass what FM3 or other console games will offer, both graphically and in what it offers (doors, bonnets, modeled engines, interiors, animated drivers, passanger)

Why people like yourself even still question if it will be a great looking game is hard to believe.

PD never give out much during development but new trailers and screenshots can only start flooding our way over the next 2 months.

Yes and hype is very high for this but realistically can anyone say it doesnt look to be a very ambitious and impressive title knowing what some of its content and features are. Additionally with PD behind it Id say it will be brillant but also have many flaws as well.

I know the TG track in in GT5, just wasn't sure you could be certain it was in that original clip because of how short it was.

I don't doubt that on most levels GT5 is going to look better then FM3 and have all those nice touches like active aero and weather/nighttime etc..

What I do want to see is some concrete physics/AI and good indication of in-game graphics to put my mind at rest that this isn't just another GT 'driving' game and has now got closer to simulation, the number of doors that can fly off or the degree of modelling of the windscreen wiper bolts isn't that important to me.

The TT demo did show that the Physics are now more entertaining, but still it feels very much OTT and un-naturaly at times, very much like NSF:Shift, so although indicative, I can't believe this is the final thing either..

I guess I'm coming from not being the regular GT punter, I don't swoon over the graphics (even if they are very very good), I just play it as a game, and on that level, so far, GT45/GT5p etc has been quite middle of the road.. if you strip the graphics out of the equation, there is much to be answered, and we are getting closer and closer to release.
